Question Nw to The Forum

Hi All,

I am new to this forum. I just got a tentative date for surgery. March 12th! I have been going through the process since July 2006. Have any of you had any problems since you had surgery?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI CHESTNEL@!
Welcome to the boards!
I am glad you found this board.
EVERYONE has there own experiences some have had some complications post op......but the thing i hear from all of them is they dont regret the decision to have the surgery.

I had text book perfect surgery on june 1 2005 and lost 143 lbs.
I only had one issue 12 months out that was diagnosed and treated
right away by my surgeon. I developed a bleeding ulcer, small and was put on priolosec. SINCE i been fine. I didnt break any rules that caused the ucler and had non pre op....happens and no big deal.

I look forward to getting to know you thru your posts!
AND im excited on that MARCH 12th date !!!
PULL up your chair...and read there is so much awesome information
all over this board. PLENTY of motivating pics! everything!
and great friendships have been made all over this board!
HUGS!

Default Welcome!

Hey there newbie,
My journey with the weightloss, came on August 1st, 2006. Since then, I have lost 105#'s.I am currently 142#'s. I FEEL GREAT, and had absolutely NO problems post-op. Sure, I would get days when, I would get moody, and a little depressed thinking of things like, WHAT IF I AM LEFT WITH ALOT OF EXTRA SKIN, OR WHAT IF I FALL OFF THE WAGON AND GAIN THE WEIGHT BACK? I finally convinced myself to take one day at a time, and just forget the what if's.I felt that if I kept that kind of thinking up, I would surely drive myself crazy. Everyone is different though with issues that may or may not arise after surgery. Being educated before issues arise, is a HUGE HUGE plus. You sure picked a GREAT site, to learn alot about the surgery, and issues that again, may or may not arise, PRE OP AND POST OP. WELCOME ABOARD, and hope to get to know you better.

Welcome! I had surgery on Halloween 2005 and have had no{knock on wood} surgery related complications. Everything has gone well for me and for many who i have become friends with. However there are many complications that can occur. Without trying to scare you it is very important you are aware of issues that can arise during surgery and post op as well. I truely felt for me that the benefits of the surgery outweighed the risks and so did my docs. This is individual. I do have to say i see much more success than complications but they are there. This is an exciting time for you and its going to change your life forever. I wish you the best of luck...This is a great place for info and support.
