Default One year out & Body fat percentage test results

My surgeon has everybody do a bod pod prior to surgery, 6 months out and one year out. I am really happy so far. I still don't want to walk around with my shirt off, as I still think it looks like i'm fat with the excess skin. I would like to get plastic surgery to remove what I think is mostly skin. Anyway, My highest pre-surgery weight was 322, but I lost some pre-surgery through dieting so the first bodpod showed me at 308.3.
1st weight - 308.3 lbs
2nd weight - 212.6 lbs
3rd weight - 188.2 lbs

1st percent fat - 46.5%
2nd percent fat - 27.4%
3rd percent fat - 15.2%

1st fat weight - 143.4 lbs
2nd fat weight - 58.3 lbs
3rd fat weight - 28.6 lbs

1st lean weight - 164.9 lbs
2nd lean weight - 154.3 lbs
3rd lean weight - 159.6 lbs Woo hoo! gained some muscle back!

Almost at goal weight wise and still working out, hoping to get below 12% body fat, that is my goal anyway. I am now in what bod pod categorizes as moderately lean 13-20% for a male, which they say is "...acceptable for good health." If I get in the 9-12% range, they call that lean and say that it is "Lower body fat levels than many people. This range is excellent for health and longevity."

I have never been called anything with the word lean in it, makes me feel pretty good, but I am not loosing sight of my final goal body fat% wise.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Wow, what a great result!!! Congrats!!!

I haven't taken my bodyfat percentage since I lost the weight but think I must be around 22-25% which is pretty lean for a er... mature woman..

I bet you work out with weights etc because seems you have an athletic bodyfat percentage! Would love to hear about your workout program. I work out also and cross train - weight training, cardio and yoga/stretching.

My workout consists of 4 days a week of Cardio, started on eliptical when I was heavier and now running / treadmill at an aggresive pace for 45 minutes to an hour at a time. I also lift weights for 30-35 minutes at a time 4-5 times per week.

Sounds nice - would love to see a photo - I bet you look great!!

I have to do a bit different program because of my age, arthritis etc. I usually do cycling of some kind every other day and on the other days, I do my resistance with my cardio i.e. gazelle freestyle and healthrider - each 20-30 minutes - no impact. (well low impact with the gazelle). That's what works the best for women i.e. to work muscle groups together instead of isolating them like what works well for men. Muscles of a 65 year old in general are not as strong and especially women - with virtually no testosterone for recovery.

That being said, I do do Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies II, once a week - this gives me low impact aerobics and also a full body workout including a weight training routine at the end. And working pretty near all my muscles gently.

This workout program, about 40-60 minutes a day is greatly less than what I could do even 5 years ago at the age of 60. And when I was 49, I could do a different aerobics video each day plus lots of bicycle riding with no repercussions... Aging is not easy!

I find I can do yoga several times a week and some of those exercises end up being resistance type (against my own bodyweight) like the plank, the upward dog, a couple of push ups and so forth.

As you can see, I love working out and have done it pretty near most of my life. Latest project is to find a place to swim - I really miss it.

I hope you send us a photo... I bet you look fabulous!
