Hello all. I have been cleared by my pcp for surgery. It has been a long and busy 6 months but I finally have everything my surgeon wanted me to have prior to submitting the package to my insurance company for preapproval. I had 2 sleep tests revealing I have sleep apnea in addition to other things. Now comes the loooooooong wait I have read about so many times on this site.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me to to pass the time?
How long should I wait before I contact the surgeon's office?
Should I contact the insurance company?
Does anyone have United Health Care Choice Plus?

Any advice you can give, I would appreciate!

I have United Health Care Choice Plus (at least that is what my card says...) It took a while for approval, keep in touch with your surgeons office and follow up, they kept saying they hadn't received the psych eval 3 weeks after the surgeons office faxed it with confirmation and again after they re-faxed it. When I called the last time I told them that the wait was getting extreme and the next day I had my approval. Could be coincidence or it could be they got tired of me calling...I was lucky in some ways in that I didn't find out until 6 weeks after it had been submitted so was unaware I was waiting until I thought enough time had passed to check on it.
