Default My Dr okays the surgery

I when to my family Dr. I have to go back two more times. Next I have a question has anyone ever taken shots of Victoza , I understand it is for type 2 diabetes, I have high sugar levers, but I do not have diabetes.
My Dr. is whating me to take shots to see if they will help me loss some weight. I am not sure if I want to take them. I understand that he has to suggest things for me to loss weight before the insurance will pay for my surgery. I just don't know, the medicine is so new.
He is sending me to a dietitian on the 17th of next month too. He said something about a sleep study too.

well let you know what happen next week after visit #2.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I have never heard of it - a shot that is meant to help you lose weight... You said it was new, can you request the results of the phase II and III clinical studies? I would at least see, but I don't mind digging for information either.

Doc Sanae may have some information on the shots.

Good luck with your journey.

sorry I did not make myself clear , it is not a shot for weight loss , it is for people who have type 2 diabetes. The weight loss is just a side affect of the drug.

Interesting, my husband is a type II diabetic but is insulin dependent (years of not taking care of himself) I wonder if something like this would help him? I will have to keep it in mind for the next time I go with him to the dr.

Good luck with your journey, I actually gained weight on the 6 month supervised diet, but have since lost most of it and my insurance company approved me.

Victoza. Pharm co's info.
VictozaŽ fact sheet - Novo Nordisk A/S

You say you have high blood sugar, but are not diabetic. Do you mean that your blood sugar is not high enough for the diagnostic criteria for diabetes? What about your A1C? How high is that?
Uncoontrolled diabetes raises the risk of complications during and after surgery, so that may be why your dr wants your blood sugar level controled.

i have had a sleep study done for sleep apnea currently awaiting the results, i answered some questions on how likely i was to fall asleep in certain circumstances etc because i scored high they sent me to the chest clinic, they gave me a machine that i had to take home for one night, all it was, was a clip on my finger it measured my heart rate & blood oxygen levels while i slept they can then tell wether i have it or not, it may not be the same thing as i had as i am from England and they do things differently everywhere.
