Default excited and confused

Hello there,

My name is Christine, I am from Ontario Canada. I have had two appointments so far, one was an orientation and the second one was with a nurse. Can anyone tell me how many appointments it took before you received an appointment date for your surgery.....I don't know about any one else but one day I am all for it and then I'm not. Is that normal?????? I'm scared and excited. If anyone has any words of wisdom it would be very much appreciate......

All advise welcomed.

Thanks
Christine

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

The emotions are normal. I have my surgery tomorrow and even though I have researched for years before coming to this point, the finality of the surgery scares me and at times I am wondering what I am doing to myself. But, I know that in order to lead a 'normal' active life and to be able to enjoy my grandson due this fall I need to do this, dieting has not helped.

Good luck in your journey and I am sure someone from Canada can help with the logistics and timelines that they dealt with.

Thanks, there are two of us having our surgery tomorrow. Assuming no issues I should be home on Thursday, but I may have someone bring my computer to the hospital so depending on how I feel I may be on before then.

People told me that by the time I got to this point I would wonder where the time went and they are right. A few months ago this couldn't come soon enough and now that it is here it seems so fast.

Good luck with your journey and may you be approved quickly.

My name is Jenna and I have just started the process of getting approved. In July I had my consultation with my weight loss doctor. (2 hours from my home) I also had 8 different appointments with different docotrs for various types of testing. This month I have 6 more appointments! I hope to be done with all the testing by the 17th of this month ( as long as they don't find anything else wrong with me). Sometimes I don't think that all of this testing and screening are worth it, but when I look at my 9 year old (almost 10) Daughter and my Husband I know deep down we will all be better once the surgery is over. I hope this helps to know that someone else has the same feelings! Good luck! Keep looking at the big picture!

Welcome Christine! I have been poking around this site for a while now and finally decided to jump in and join the group. This site will be a great tool for you. As far as emotions, I have been all over the place, hence the name FLUX!
I, along with Mj2903 will be going in tomorrow. I am very nervous but sure that I am doing the right thing. I have asked myself several times, "what the heck are you doing to yourself and your wonderful family (hubby and 2 kids) that love you just as you are?" Then I think about the 4 pills I have to take a day to control my blood pressure and 1 I have to take to control my cholesterol, or herniated disc in my back. And we won't even get into the sleep apnea that was discovered during my pre-surgical testing! UGh! I am 34 years young and have a lot of life left to live!

I would review all of your attempts at weight loss in the past (that you seriously attempted) and judge if you were successful....

Welcome again and I hope to see you on the bench soon.

It took me 11 months from start to finish. I did not even get to meet with my surgeon until all of my tests & other appointments cleared & were taken care of. Everything depends on what your surgeon/insurance requires.

My suggestion would be to call your surgeon & ask them how their process goes. What the average time is. Tell them you are not trying to pin them down to a dpecific date. That you just want to see what the time frame is.
