Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

If you're in reasonably good health and are a good candidate for WLS, and have the commitment and drive to make it work, the best person to ask if you can have it would be a bariatric surgeon.

We have members here in their 60's who have had the surgery and done very well with it. Quality of life and better health are good reasons for doing it, even if you're past the stage of wanting to be a sexy, skinny flirt!!

Hi, I had RNY surgery at 62 years old. My Dr has done even older patients. My surgery was March 16, 2010 and I've had no problems. I went through surgery fine, came home after only 2 days cause I was up and about doing so well, and I have had very limited problems(my own fault) so far. People our age have been through alot, have lived a lot of life, we can handle things. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. Let me know if you have any more questions--I'll try to answer them. Nancy

The oldest person on this board at the time of surgery is 63. If you are in reasonably good health, you should have a good chance. However, you may have to go through a more extensive and thorough testing than younger people.

Well, if you don't believe something'll work, you'd be crazy to do it! People have failed at this. People have had wild success with it. The determining factor appears to have a lot to do with how serious they are about success. If you can't commit 100% to following the rules - every day of the rest of your life - don't bother. If you can - miracles are about to happen in your life.
