Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

| Whipper Snapper |  Going To The States For Surgery Hi my name is Rachel and i am quite new at this. I have just been ok'ed by the ministry of health to go to New York for a lap/roux en y procedure. Needless to say i am full of different emotions. I REALY need to talk to people who have been there and who are going through this because i am the type of persone who scares easily and i need to be informed. Pull up a chair, make yourself at home here, and please don't hesitate to post all your Qs on the board, as the Qs you have may well be the Qs other have as well, and asking them will help others as well as help you. There are a lot of us around always willing to answer whatever you need answers to. Do you already have a date? If you do, it's quite normal to be nervous and on an emotional roller coaster. Eveyone goes through this. If you have the time to, go through as many posts as you can. Stupid Questions and Coffee Talk are two good places to start. Also, please check out FYI-How to Navigate thread in Coffee Talk, this thread will tell you where to look for what. It is not like reading advertisements, seeing a Tv show etc, because HERE you will here the REAL THING. THe good and the bad. But weigh it all and you will see that the good outweighs (no pun intended, well maybe  ) the bad. I'm excited for you just reading that your surgery date is coming up...I know you've been sooo patient! Also, I don't think I knew you were from TEXAS??!! Where about do you live?? I'm from Texas...grew up in San Antonio...(lived there 12yrs.) and then I lived in Dallas area for about 16 yrs..... Just moved to NYC last summer.... Looking forward to our Dallas trip next summer!!
