Default On a countdown for 26th March :)

Hi everyone

well its monday evening and this time next week it will be all over and done with for me.

I have stocked up the freezers (we have enough til summer lol), paid the bills, hoovered everything in sight and washed for England.

I have to say I am getting rather nervous now and its making me want to eat for some reason. Saying that - thats why I'm the way I am in the first place - emotional eating. God I could really eat a chinese

On the upside - this pre-op diet of nothingness has so far made me lose 11lb - so that has got to help with liver shrinkage I hope.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hang in there, you are doing well!!
If you want to eat a Chinese, then Chinese soup may help.

I'll be keeping you in my prayers for an uneventful surgery and uncomplicated recovery.

JUST wanted to stop in and keep the countdown
going with you. ITS an exciting time.
THE surgery doesnt totally cure emotional eating.
you will have to deal with that issue
some post op. SURE you will eat smaller
portions...but emotional between meal
eating can be harmful further out in your
maintenance program. EARLY out from
my experience that issue was not a problem
its the further out i have become i have to watch.
I know for me i couldnt get into any kind of last supper
syndrome or my surgery would have been cancelled so
thankfully that helped keep me in control the last
weeks leading up to the big day. I know i could have
packed on pounds.I know your preop diet is helping you as well.
I also took some weight management sessions post op to help me
with emotional eating matters.
...some place in your journey you might want to
consider it.
HANG in there
HUGS and we do understand.....and GOOD luck on these
final days leading up to your big rebirthday!!!!
prayers and thoughts will be with you on this date

Thanks doc for your thoughts - chinese soup - please expand on this !!!!

Lisa - thank you so much for replying - you may not realise it but you have been my source of encouragement on here and I really just wanted to acknowledge that. With regards to the emotional eating your right. Its been a factor for me for nearly 20 years now - I have always retreated into food for comfort, but then the vicious circle starts of guilt, then depression, then more eating. I will definately be asking for help after the op with this.

Bye for now

Well, truthfully, I am not sure how to make chinese soup stock. I usually get granular chinese chicken soup stock(there is such a thing on market, you probably will be able to find something if you go to China Town in large cities, if you can't find them on the shelves of your regular stores), boil some water and dump the soup stock in it, then add some salt, pepper and soy sauce to flavor it....

Awww JULS! thanks for your kind words! I really try to be here for folks as i know how i felt in the months before surgery and early out.
THIS board wasnt around and wished it was so i give from my personal experience now.

I know for a fact I have emotional eating issues.
AND ill warn you that its normal early post op to get the blues from
looseing this best friend. I have lost my weight successfully...but
i do sometiems reach for food when i am not hungry for comfort.
I really think for me it went back to smokeing days. THAT i use smokeing
to calm me in tense times an then when i quit that it got replace by food and thats when my weight climbed to record highs.

HANG in there and feel free to write me anytime .

I will also add her i know for me when i was on my clear liquid diet
post op i had some chinese egg drop soup.....and that filled a need
i was having !!!
hugs
lisa
