Hi everyone,

Not really sure what to say in these intros.. so here's a couple basics about me...

pre-op, hoping for surgery in July with Dr Goodman in NJ
married for almost 9 years, together 13
2 wonderful sons (7 & 9) they grow up so fast!
i'm 34, and have been on this road for 4 years+
shy, but i love 'meeting' new people, especially those of you who sort of know what we're going through (if that makes sense)
on top of being heavy, i also am diabetic and have lymphedema, as well as DVT/PE (lots of info about these on my website)

i had the pleasure of talking to a few of you in chat the other night, and i look forward to meeting more of you.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yo Peach, welcome aboard kiddo.

I quickly back tracked to your OH profile from you website. I really enjoyed everything you had to say.

We have a bunch of wonderful yet imperfect folks here.

I am nine years PostOp from and Open RNY and started this site because I wanted to ensure a place of solution based supprt for all aspects of the WLS journey.

Take time to check out some of the articles in the main area of the site. Then stand by for a tidal wave of hugs from the folks here.

All I ever ask folks is to keep things clean and supportive, and pls visit our sponsors to help support the cost of maintaining the site.

Again, Welcome and mega Blessings,

Hey swtpeach, I am here in New Jersey also. I am going to Philadelphia for my surgery on April 4th and I am so excited. I have been addicted to this site as is evidenced by my post number. I hope that I get to know you better and that everything works out. Thank you for posting a profile.

Okay I just read up in your corner that you are in Canada. Was the NJ for new jersey? I guess I am confused, well even if you aren't meaning New Jersey, it doesn't matter to me. I am still glad to see a newbie post some information on themselves.

Hi, swtpeach, welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
I enjoyed getting to know you in chat. Hope I'll see you again there as well as here.

Default Thanks everyone!

Wow! Thanks for all the welcomes!

Just to clear up.. yes, I'm from Canada.. but I am having my surgery in New Jersey.... the wait up here in Canada is so long for surgery.. and I have already been waiting 4+ years.. so I applied for insurance (OHIP) to cover my going (kinda) south.

And yes, Doc.. boys really are creatures from another planet... and mine especially so, they are from two different planets.. My eldest is quiet, studious, artistic.. and my youngest is.. well.. think "hamster on crack" and you'll get the idea. So, you can see why I need this surgery.. to keep up!!

that really does clear it up for me, thanks. I am starting to think that maybe it would be nice if my insurance company required me to have this surgery done somewhere tropical like Barbados, but oh well, Philly rich with all it's history will have to do.
