Arrow Hello everyone, Newby here...Having gastric surgery March 24th, had lapband first.

hello all,
Seems everyone here is doing good on there journey so i know i will too. I am so so scared but i know it will be o.k. I had lapband in 2004, with its getting infected and removed. i did ok with it lost 50 lbs. but gained over half back. Gatric was a scary thought then and even scarier now. I also am a dibetic. When i had the band my diabeties was good, i didnt even have to take meds. so i am excited to get this done so my diabeties will be controled again. Everyone has a lot of info that has been very helpfull to me and i am glad to have found this site. I knnow i will be looking on here everyday for all my information and if i have a problem.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi there. Welcome to the boards. I cant help you yet but I might have to ask you for help one day. Somthing my surgeon told me on my consult I thought I would share with you on the banding.

He stated he used to do the banding procedures back in the 80's before they had all the evidence they do not not to do that procedure no more. He stated the new Lap Band they do now is almost the same exact thing and he feels will cause trouble in the long run. He refuses to perform it. I have to ask did you ever see that thing before you had it done or hold it in your hands. Bless your heart. You know you have to got through alot with a Lap Band. Much more than with The Gastric Bypass option. Im sure your gonna do great. On these Angels on this site will help you so much. Please stay around.

Hope all went well with your surgery. I don't know much about the band, but I wanted the most permenant solution so I sought out the RNY. So far, my experience has been great.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Jody
