| Three Weeks Post-Op -- Fatigue?
Greetings friends,
Well, we're three wks post-op today. Things are going okay. I have good days and not-so-good days. My primary issue is fatigue. I seem monster tired at times. Any thoughts as to why? I'm getting in at least 60gms of protein every day and trying to maximize my fluid intake.
Just don't think I've found the right sequence or something. Thoughts are appreciated.

Hang in there, it will get better. I noticed that around week 3 I was very tired, and couldnt get through the day without laying down. I started taking my B1 and B12 around this time, and that seemed to help out alot. The energy will come back, just takes some time. Your body is still adjusting to the traumatic events of surgery. It will get better, just take it day by day.

It's normal, your body has been through a lot and it takes time to get that energy back, seems like it took me a good 6 weeks before I felt fairly "normal" hang in there and keep up the good work!

It's normal to be still tired at where you are. Also, great one day, absolute pits the next day is quite normal, too. You're doing A-okay.

Yep, it took about 6 weeks for me to be able to get through my day without coming home and taking a nap.

Everyone is different. I remember a friend of mine, who also had RNY, was worried about me because I was so tired. I started feeling a tad better about 6 wks out, but not until 4 months out did I feel like I had "normal" energy. Some of us recover slower from the anesthesia, and well, let's face it, our bodies are in overdrive trying to figure out what to do now! As long as you're doing your fluids, vitamins, and protein, this should get better. I was so concerned that I had my primary care provider draw labs before the surgeon's lab draws. All my vitamin levels were in check, blood pressure good, blood sugars good, etc. My primary and I decided that it must have been from the anesthia. Again, everybody is different on their recovery time, including energy. Best wishes and hang in there!

Congrats on being three weeks out! And good for you getting that much protein in a day! I'm 6 months out and still have problems getting enough in!
Fatigue is so normal. It will get better! Good luck!
