| scared to meet with my surgeon!! Hello to all, been a while since I posted, my surgery was 10-11-10 and I have lost approximately 62 pounds. I went to my doctor in December and am scheduled to go back on May 16. I am so worried he will be upset with me because of the slow weight loss. I have even thought about going back on Phentermine (diet pill) to help me loose more before I go back. Is this normal or am I just to paranoid? I have only lost 10 pounds since the last time I saw him. Any advice??

Some people are just slower than others, what have you been eating? Are you following the 30/30 rule? What about exercise. If you have not been following the rules then maybe the best thing is to go see the doctor and be honest with him and take the "beating" and get yourself back on track. I would not recommend any diet pill because frankly if they worked we would not have this conversation today right? Good luck and get yourself back on track. Keep posting and maybe post on the what have you ate today and this might help you to see what you are actually eating... Keep us posted...

Ditto- NO DIET PILLS!
I agree, get back on track. Write down what you eat (or go on line and record it. I use SparkPeople.com.) Drink the water and count the protein...beef up the exercise.
Only you know how you are doing with all that.
So, do the NEXT RIGHT THING... starting now.
Good luck.

I agree with the others, no diet pills, just go to your surgeon's office and face whatever music comes. My surgeon's office says that most people try to stay away when they are struggling but their office would prefer that people come in actually so that they can work with the team to try to get you back on track. They want you to be successful, so go, explain what's happening and let them help you |

Yep, no diet pills! I post here on what did you eat today and also on myfitnesspal. It keeps track of everything for you. So, I'm accountable in two places; it's the only way I know for sure what I've done for the day.
Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for the support, I will start journaling my food intake and maybe it will make more accountable for what I put into my mouth. Take care and God bless.

Good Luck! | This is for Emmasnana and Pretty Woman: how do you keep track of stuff to log it in there? For example, we met friends for breakfast today I got the baked oatmeal and a side of bacon. I only ate about 1/3 of the oatmeal, and only 1 piece of the bacon and just a spash of milk in the oatmeal How in the world would I enter that meal? I think "keeping track" is one of the hardest things for me to do.
Thanks!!!!

I use LiveStrong.com and a lot of food is already in there, so I would put in "baked Oatmeal" and where it asks how much of a serving I would enter .33, with the bacon I would enter how much/many strips I ate and as far as the milk do the samething.

Sorry, I didn't see your post DNB!
On myfitnesspal there are already tons of restaurant meals in their database so I try and find that first. If it's not on there I google it to see if it's anywhere else on-line.
Sometimes it's a guessing game when it comes to eating out but I can usually get pretty close and I'm most concerned with the protein.
I've even put my own recipes in, it calculates everything for your and then you have it in your files on the site for next time you need it.
Perkins has a good omelet with grilled chicken, made with egg beaters. On Perkins website you can find your meal and then delete any items you didn't eat. Like the omelet comes with dry toast and a fruit dish. I don't eat the bread and ususally not the fruit so when I uncheck those it only gives me the nutritional values for the omelet. Then I transfered that to myfitness pal.
Hope that helped!
