4days to go. Only lost 17lbs but at least I lost. Last couple of days hard. It's that time of the month. That's why I didn't lose these last2days.

Just want to get it over with. Hope it's not too painful. Hope all goes well. Getting nervous.

Any tips? Did anyone need any help the first few weeks at home?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You've lost a good amount before surgery, congrats on that!
I can only speak for myself but my surgery and recovery were quite easy. The pain was mild, didn't take pain meds much after I went home. Just take it easy, don't push yourself those first few days. Rest is very important.
Try and have everything ready prior to your surgery for the first week after you get home as far as food and vitamins go. That way you don't have to go out if you don't want to.
Good Luck, I'm sure you'll do great!

Yes, you should have some protein drinks, broths, SF jello and water ice at home. I tried a few protein drinks before surgery. I also got "melt aways" for Gas X and Beano. 3 months out and I used GasX twice (beware of broccoli.) Be sure to get your pain RX filled and be sure to take it as needed...no need to be a hero. Do you have some support lined up at home? Get your vitamins and calcium etc. in advance too.
A little preparation before hand is a good thing. I seemed to like sitting in a recliner during the day (between walking up and down the hall, and sipping water as much as
possible.) I had surgery in Jan. so the it wasn't outside walking weather.
Best of luck and let us know how it is going for you.

Talking 4days

Thanks everyone.

I did my shopping the week I started the pre op diet 5 weeks ago. I got the b vitamins, clingstone complete chewable, tums for calcium, bean chewable, gasx strips, de rom for stinky gas, protein powder I like, isopure ready to drink protein in 4 flavors, sf jello cups and to cook, sf ice pops (they have been my lifesaver these past weeks), Medicare protein shakes powder and ready to drink, canned soup that will be allowable,

I have both freezers stocked with cooked food for my husband so he doesn't starve. Mom is coming up from Florida for a week to take care of me and my daughters boss said she could work out of the the second week to help me.

Today is my birthday so I celebrated by going out for a salad with grilled chicken and ff salad dressing for lunch. Ate less than half and had some more of it for dinner. So I had two meals instead of one and two shakes today. I hope that doesn't hurt me.

I have noticed that the last two weeks on the pre op diet have been good and it takes less real food to fill me up. I he this helps me mentally for after surgery.

This forum is the best. No matter how much my husband tries he really can't help. He listens but can't give useful advice. He is an athlete and doesn't have a weight problem

Thanks for listening and helping. Bag is packed and ready to go. So am I.

Best birthday present I could give myself.

It is a little different for all of us, make sure you walk as much as possible and sip slowly. Pain meds and ditto on what everyone else said. Rest when you feel tired, you will probably nap every day for a while. Your body needs it. Have all you need to take to the hospital. Pack ahead of time.
