Hi, I'm new to this forum and hoping to have surgery in the month of June. My insurance is in order and I'm having the pre op testing and meeting with the surgeon on the 1st. The surgery is scheduled for 9th June, but I'm on antibiotics for a strep throat and I'm scared that its not gone.

I'm going to see about getting a throat swab to reassure me on the 1st as well, plus I will ask the surgeon if there's any other test he can run to make sure all will be well.

I'm so looking forward to my surgery! Since I went to the seminar about lap bands in October, my life has been about jumping through hoops for my insurance company. I've also managed to gain over 10 pounds during the 6 months of dietary supervision. Sigh.

I'm REALLY ready to have this surgery.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You are having lap band? A gal in support group had it. It was same day surgery..and she was back to work the end of the week.

I, too, would check on the strep throat. Your doc should be able to clear that up for you. Good luck.
