Default New to Forum

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I had RNY surgery on 9/7/06. Starting wt. 243, current wt. 168. I have reached a major plateau over 8wks. I have been working with a personal trainer for over 6wks. I believe I need to up my cardio because currently I am doing mostly strength/lite cardio 3x week.

I hope to aquire and/or give advise and encouragement to the group. I am rather depress now about the sudden stop in weight loss and find myself reverting back to those snacking baddd habits

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
(((((HUGS)))))) bummer on the stall, however, it happens from time to time.
Don't let it get back to your old habits, but keep working on your tool!!
How's your water, how's getting in your protein first?
Are you keeping with the Pouch Rules?

May your journey go well!!

(((HUG)))
welcome to the boards!
GLAD you found a place to come for some more support.
WHEN you plataue its frustrating...
and so many things that may be going on
and things u might doo to get the scale rolling
along in your favor.

FIRST thing is usually when the scale isnt moveing your melting
the visual inches and its when your body catches up and takes a breather!
IT happens and yes its frustrating. YOU also mention your doing alot of
working out so its known that muscles weighs more then fat so as u build ur new muscles it might weigh more then the fat some....another possiblity that is heard alot.
THIS link might be good reading for you at this time as well:

http://www.renewedreflections.com/fo...ing-stall.html

other suggestions might be increase your protein and water intake
and it might help too. I personally swear by strawberries. THEY get the
scale moving for me...and i swear is why i never had stalls during my months of rapid weight loss.

THERE is also the plataue busters diet which i never did and never heard all the best about it that the mintue you go back to eating the weight loss goes back....but who knows we are all different.

GOOD LUCK!
hugs
hope i helped ya

Default Welcome coolata!

Always glad to see newbies come onto the site. Those platueas must be hard for a person. I can't say that I ever had one, to be honest. When I started losing after the surgery, I just kept losing until I reached the ideal weight of 140 pounds. When I got there, it was like my body just stopped losing. I have been at this weight for a few months now. In the beginning, I thought what am I doing wrong? I was doing nothing wrong. I just had it in my head that I still should be losing. It took me a long time to realize, hey stupid, you are where you are going to stay, and it is a healthy weight. lol You are still in the losing stage yet, coolata, so my story really doesn't pertain to you. Sorry, I kinda got off the track of your post. Everything you are doing is very good. I to, get in my weight training, walking, and eating healthier since surgery, and go with it. The way I look at it, I would never have been doing these things before my surgery. You either, for that matter, and no offense. Keep pluggin along. I think you have done a great job so far in what you have been doing. KEEP IT UP!
