Default My Journey

Hi there everyone, my name is Heidi and I'm 30 years old, married to Hepa and mother to Kate 7, Sarah 5 1/2 and Joseph 4, and live in New Zealand. After my son was born 4 years ago I decided that at over 150kg (300 pounds?) enough was enough and one way or another I wasn't going to live a fat life anymore. So over the next two years by changing my eating habits and starting to excercise I lost over half of my total body weight. I have now maintained my weight at 70kg (not completely sure of metric conversion but about 145 pound?) at 172cms thats a good weight for my height. I have been left with some excess skin and am booked in to have a tummy tuck and arm surgery to correct this. I would just like to wish everyone that is embarking on their own journey through which ever method they have decided is the best for them all the very best, you will be amazed at the difference in your life. Heidi

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Wow Heidi, that's cool that you were able to lose that much. Looking forward to talking to you in chat. I too would love to see some pictures when you get around to it.

Congrats Heidi! You have done wonderfully. I wish I could have lost my weight on my own without surgery.

Please keep us up to date on your PS. Many of us would like to hear how it is. I know for myself I am starting to look into plastics.

Good Luck and get us some pictures when you can.

Shelley

Thanks for the welcome everyone, sure will try and get some pictures posted if I can dig some befores up, used to run and hide from any camera! Got pulled over last night by a policeman just for a general check, and certainly took some explaining as I haven't got around to replacing my drivers licence photo yet! Must admit I feel a bit like an imposter using this site as I've not had WLS but it's such a supportive and informative site for talking to others who are experiencing or are going to experience the effects of a large weight loss.

Heidi, you are no imposter, you are a great memeber for this board!
Please keep supporting us all, everyone's experience is good information and support for all.

Hehe, pretty funny about the brush with the police, if you'd been on the wanted list in your before days, you sure found a way to not be recognised and get off scott free!

Heidi, I am so glad that you have come and joined us. I have tried to get my parents to check it out on here and join, but they feel kinda awkward I think plus they are incredibly busy. I would love to have more non-ops on here.
