| Big Loser | Well it's coming up soon. The medical director now has my records in their hands and is going to be making a decision it looks like by the end of the week. I am so sick just waiting to hear the answer. I mean it seems the more I wait the more nervous I get and the more things I have to think about. Last night I was so stressing out. Had all these thoughts running in my head. Was even doubting if I should continue with the surgeon I have picked because he is not found on Duodenal Switch.com and their surgeons list. I was told that they check out all the surgeons on that forum. Mine was not there so I panicked. Mine is on ObesityHelp and now I hear that those surgeons pay to have their names put there. So I am freaking cause mine is not on the site that has been checked out. OMG I need an answer quickly or I feel I could break. LOL No really last night I was just thinking everything that could be bad. You know ok so this is not going to happen. I read some reviews and found some negitives about my surgeon, and then once again I called the office yesterday and it has been over a month since I talked to them, and was told that "I" needed to keep up with the insurance stuff. I thought that was their job. So then I was stressing again about the staff decision like I did when I first came here, and posted the post about the staff problems. Perhaps I need to go back and read my post about Trusting God and take my own advice again. I really have been a very good girl over the past seven months while all of this has been being put together but now I need to get some help here. They need to SAY YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I hear yesterday that often they will turn down those wanting the DS on the first time. Not what I needed to hear. So I need your prayers everyone before they come to take me away in a white coat. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I have never talked to anyone about the switch procedure before. Im sure your Dr is compentent. If your really scared get another opinion. Im not sure which one you were talking about paying to get there name put up. I know on obsiety help my Dr is listed. When I asked his staff about posting more on the site they told me that he was comfortable enough without having to advertise on the web for new patients. Then stated the patients put his name there not him. Upon meeting this Dr. i know the office staff told me correct. He does not beat around the bush about nothing. Go to the Medical Society for you state on the net and it will pull up anything you need to be concered about with the Dr you chose. Again if your worried about him.....get another opinion. This is just my opinion. Hope this note finds you well. Vickie |

| Big Loser | Thanks Sometimes it is just nice to hear someone say it is normal to feel this way. MsVickie, I do believe in my surgeon and to be honest now that you said what you said I understand why there is not more on the site for my surgeon. I am going to go ahead and let you know my surgeon. It is Adam Naaman. I did wonder why his website does not have more info about his patients over the past year. Now I understand because he is very famous. Was even in the movie Super Size Me. About the diet of eating nothing but McDonalds food for a month. They did an interview with him. Since that movie his practice has just boomed which explains why his office staff is so busy. (read my post if you have time about Staff ?) I really do believe he is one of the best surgeons in the state of Tx. Thanks MsVickie for giving me the info you did it makes since to me now. |

| Big Loser | So today I called again and they tell me my records are still with the director. I ask how long it usually takes for them to make a decision and they told me that it seems all my medical records were in order but that they still can't give me an answer yet. Sometimes the very day the director gets it there is a decision made. Sometimes it takes a little longer. Then since I posted last I have found out some more info about my surgeon. First he is the head surgeon at the hospital where my surgery will be preformed. Also he is certified as a bariatric specialist with the National Bariatric Society. I have talk to a couple of his patients and they all say that he is one of the best. Now I did get the same answers about the staff that I told you about. That they can seem a little cold, but that his assistant is top notch and that is who I will be dealing with the most. They say that he is on the ball when it comes to the patients and that they have had no problems in getting calls returned or info they ask about. There were two things that they did not like about their surgery and that was that he does not use full calf compression boots but ankle instead, and that he does not give medication to combat pulminary annuruseums. However they say if you ask he will give them to you. So I am going to post this question on the board in another place to see what kind of answers I get incase some do not read this. |

| Big Loser | Thanks, I got a call yesterday from my doctor after my mother LOL called them and gave them a piece of her mind. The office tells me they are so sorry they did not realize that it had already been almost two months since I had been there and that the insurance company should have already gotten back with me. So she calls and then calls me back and says that yes it is on the medical directors desk but that they told her they are so far behind on their cases that they are not even going by their 30 day rule of getting an answer to the patient that we must just wait until they get to our case. So I wait Then I called them that afternoon as they have told me to call them twice daily. So I call and they tell me they have no clue who told them that my records were on the medical directors desk but that they are still with the nurse so that is the second time in the last week that I have heard that. What is wrong with these insurance companies??? I understand that I am not the only patient but come on this is crazy. I need to be patient I know and not stress about this. |
