I had my surgery November 15, 2011. I am doing really good. Have not gotten my strength back yet but am working hard to. I have lost 14 pounds since surgery. I am really struggling to get in all the vitamins, water and protein. Some of the vitamins are just not going to go down easy, nor dissolve quickly. Wish there was a shot for all of them I could do once a week and be done with them. I will continue to try because I know I need to do this. I live near Waco, Texas and used Dr. Sims at the Provident Bariactric Center.

Welcome! Yep, the first 6 weeks after surgery are a lot about the basics..walk, sip, protein, water, vitamins (not in that particular order). Maybe try chewable multivitamins- I use a gummy adult one, but some people also do the flintstone type. I had trouble with the big pills, they just seem to sit there. If you're feeling full after protein, I find that a little activity helps. Congratulations on your new start!!

Hello and welcome! I'm in your neck of the woods...I live in Hewitt. I had my surgery done at Scott & White.
Congrats on your surgery, it will get better as you go along to get in the protein and water, you might want to try chewable vitamins for a while, I had to use those for the first 3 months then the doctor's office had me go to regular pills. Sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk. Nice to have you here with us.

I am chewing Flintstone chewables; one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. They taste a bit like sweet tarts. As days go on, you will be able to take the bigger pills. Just sip whenever you can. I don't think I got all the protein down at first. Now I mix SureWhey protein tubes, I mix one tube with 32 oz of water. You get your protein and your water, it is worth a try.
Good luck.
