Weight Loss Method Sleeve Gastrectomy  |  Another New Guy Here Another new guy here. I would fill out my profile If I could figure out how...My surgury was April 6, 2007. When I began the process I weighed approx 395. On the day of my surgury I had managed to get to 380. Today I am at 350. And have been holding for a week at that.... I am terrible with instructions (Duh, I am a guy :-) I have a vertical gastrectomy, so about 85% of my stomach is gone. I am so glad you guys are here. I live alone and cooking for one is terrible, especially because I have always liked to cook and usually cook enogth to feed an army.

| Super Moderator  | Hi Cockney, welcome to this board, thank you for joining us. Hope you feel at home here and stick around, support is a very important ingredient for succuess. I take it you had what is now known as "sleeve gastrectomy" instead of the Roux en Y gastric bypass which is the most popular form of weightloss surgery. The number of patients with sleeve gastrectomy is rising fast, though. As for how to navigate through this board, check into the How to Navigate thread in Coffee Talk (just click on the blue letters and you'll automatically get there), I've tried to make things as easy as I can. | Welcome Cockney! Glad you decided to join the boards here. New people are always welcome. I, myself, have found it to be easier now, for me to cook. I love to cook as well, and do 95% of the cooking in our home. I love to prepare foods that take a long time to get ready. To me, it is very rewarding to sit down to a new recipe I have found on the puter. Of course filling my face is very satisfying as well. I just know my limits with it. I had to learn also, not to cook so much. I love leftovers. Now, I cook just enough food so their isn't any left. The family, as a whole, eats alot healthier now, and that makes me very happy. Welcome aboard, again Cockney. Keep pluggin along. You are doing great.mike |
