| Hi Santhi, 29 lbs in 6 weeks is great so don't be disappointed. I'm almost 4 months out from surgery and still don't eat cereal or rice. The carbs are pretty high in these foods and rice can be hard to digest. Do you drink protein shakes? Protein and water should be your # 1 friend and if they are I guarantee your weight will come off! Your body needs the protein to heal and so you don't lose muscle mass. It's great that you are walking each day and you should be proud of that! I hope this helps. Hugs |

Santhi, were you able to lose that much weight in 6 weeks before you had surgery? If you are like me, probably not. You are doing good so be proud of what you have lost and hang on because more weight loss is coming. Walking is a great form of exercise, so keep it up.

Welcome to the board! Congrats on the weight loss so far...29 lbs is amazing! You are doing it right, but I agree with judst, protein and water is a necessity. (((HUGS)))

Hi Santhi -- I know how discouraging it is to think that you should have lost more than you have, but 29 lbs is a lot. When was the last time you were able to lose that much in a 6 weeks. Keep up the good work. I'm surprised you are able to eat cereal and rice. Is that what your nutritionist told you. My hardest problem is figuring out what to eat and being happy with my choices. I know there's a lot of people out there that think this is the easy way out of losing weight, but in so many respects, it is much harder. We need to keep coming here to vent and figure out how to be successful with our new lifestyle.

I'm with the others....focus on protein unless your Dr advised differently. Rice and cereal are high in carbs, which for me tends to make me want even more carbs...they also seem to not stay with me as long as high protein foods do. But all that said you must be doing something right to have lost 29lbs in 6 weeks! Congrats!!!

Hi Santhi, I'm sure others will be along with some good suggestions. What I see is probably the rice and cereal may be not appropriate at this time. Try eating veggies with your chicken and maybe some yogurt for breakfast.
Good Luck!
