Red face Newbie learning the ropes

This is my 5th day since my surgery on Monday and I'm doing pretty good I think. From reading posts the struggles I'm experience with water, gas and getting protein down is normal. I'm doing my best with ice chips, Popsicles, and broth. But I'm a little concerned that I need to be getting more down. Help!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

It takes awhile to ramp your intake up to required levels. You've just had major surgery, even if you only have a few bandages to show for it. There's a lot of post-op swelling to consider, which is why they start you slow and ease you back into eating again.

Follow the rules, take it easy, don't stress yourself, and good things will happen. You need to first get your fluid intake up to snuff, then work on your protein. If you do your part, your body will reward you.

Good luck!

I'm 5 weeks out and still struggle to get it all in. Some days protein wins, most days I try to make water win. Water is definitely most important. Just eat what you can, when you can, even if you don't feel hungry at the time. It seemed like all I did at day 5 was eat, drink, sleep, and walk. It sounds like you are doing very well. Keep sipping and walking and it will get easier and easier. :-)

I agree, it takes a while to get your body ready to take it all in. I am sure it took me up to a month...you will get a little more down every day. Rest, sip and walk.
