hello i have been looking for some online help and am really glad to find this. Hello to everyone. I had my gastric bypass the 21st of november 2011. Scares me because it has been too easy. The only problem is my weight has really stopped and that scares me. Was told i am not eating enough and drinking too much protein shakes. Just looking for support and ideas and tips for eating . Was only 80 lbs overweight but health was really bad. Lost a lot of meds even insulin and diabetic pills. No pulm. Hypertenson any more and can breath without and help.any tips would be very helpful.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi there and welcome to your new family !! You should be getting the majority of your protein from dense protein sources (lean meats, etc) and not the shakes. I believe this is to keep your pouch full longer (slippy things slip right through) as you're doing more excercise, etc. It's about learning the new ways to eat as life goes on. You might be in a little stall, and those will happen off and on during this time. So, eat more dense protein, loose the shakes, excercise. Pretty much the routine from here on.

Hi, Welcome!
A friend of mine ( WLS)stopped losing and was told to up her calories...she worked out a few hours a day..(excessive)...but once she started eating more
the weight came off. I think she checked in with her nut. Just a thought.
Good luck.

I'm still preop - but from what I read, you should be eating more food at this point - as others have said..... I hope you're able to get out of this stall fairly quickly.

Welcome. This is a very friendly and supportive site. If you follow the rules that your doctor gave you, the weight will come off. Be sure to get in all the protein and water you are supposed to. It is hard to know whether you are getting too little nourishment or whether you are just in one of our famous stalls. They happen to everyone. Ask your doctor if you are in doubt.

Hi and welcome! Most of us have had a stall the first month or two. Just be patient and follow all the rules. Try and start working some more solid protein in, maybe some tuna (mix with a little bit of low fat mayo), scrambled eggs, refried beans with a little cheese melted on them. I mix protein powder in with my greek yogurt too.
Good Luck!

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on joining the Losers' Bench.
(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Stalls are quite normal. Don't worry.
As well as protein, how is your fluid/water intake? Make sure you are getting in your daily quota of this as well, and are well hydrated, as water helps with the weight loss.
