Default Anthem Blue Cross CA PPO

Hi Everyone!
I am soooo glad I found this forum.
I am newly starting the surgery process and I am curious to know if anyone has used Anthem Blue Cross CA PPO from the San Francisco Bay Area?

If so, how easy was the process. The surgeon that I am planning to use has assured me that it will be quick and fairly simple, but i am hesitant.

Anyone that has used this coverage, if you wouldnt mind sharing your experience, that would be FANTASTIC!!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hello and happy Sunday!! Welcome, this is a great group of people. I would check you benefits first and make sure they cover the surgery- not all plans have the benefit so that's a great place to start. If they do, call and ask for their qualifications list. Then, meet with the insurance guru at the surgeon office. The surgeon might have an opinion about it, but won't really have a clue about the insurance part. Those folks in the office know everything there is to know, and will likely have worked with your provider at some point. EVEN if Anthem covers it and says you only have certain qualifications, I'd follow whatever the office recommends. For instance, the insurance might not state they want 6 months of supervised weight loss prior to surgery, the office may suggest you do so. They are the experts in getting authorization for surgery. Good luck on your adventure!!
