Default Hi! Lost my way???

Hi. I am new here and am looking for some advice. I need to get back on track. I had surgery 8/07 and lost 65 lbs but have since gaine 20 lbs back. I so scared and don't know what to do. I got bored after a while with eating the same thing, chicken, protein shakes, eggs and lost my way some how.

I feel like my stomach has stretched and I'm guilty of eating slider foods or grazing. With kids and a husband, the guilty temptations like potato chips, cookies are always around. I feel like I have screwed up everything and don't know if I can get this weight off. I don't want my surgery to have been in vain.

How can I get back on track or am I too far gone??

PLEASE HELP!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi there! Welcome to the group, this is a great place for support and encouragement.
My suggestion would be to go back to the basics you were given when you had your WLS, I have a feeling you'll start seeing some weight loss again. Hang around here and let us how you're doing and how we can help. Good luck to you!

Hi and welcome, we're glad you joined us.
You shouldn't have to eat the same thing all the time unless most foods don't agree with your pouch. Try getting a little more variety and maybe you won't feel like eating the snack foods.
Remember to drink your 64 oz. water every day, eat your protein first then veggies. Fruits and whole grains if you still have room. My program says never more than 1 cup of food per meal. I still measure and weigh everything even after a year.
We're rootin' for you, you can do this!

Thanks for the encouragement but is it possible to stretch your pouch? I don't think a cup of food is enough anymore to fill me up. Maybe it is. Is it possible for it to shrink back?

I'm not really sure, we have a doc on board here and I know she will be able to answer this for you.

Doc has said that it is pretty hard to stretch your pouch. Get back to basics and you should be fine. There are lots of recipes on this site to help you not to get bored. See if you can enlist your family's support by not having the chips and cookies in the house. I'll bet they will be happy to help you. Welcome and let us know how you are doing.

A girl in support group had surgery 4 years ago and regained 26 lbs.
She said she went to OA and goes every week. She gave up eating
anything white..(sugar, flour). Won't touch a piece of bread- will eat
rice cakes instead. (There are lots of alternatives.)
Anyway, she lost the 26 lbs!!
But I agree with the others, go back to the "Rules"...drink the water, get the protein in, are you walking? moving? do all of that... maybe a cup a meal won't be enough for you, so shoot to eat "less" to begin with... and go from there.
FIGHT FOR IT. Don't give up. You CAN do it. Good luck.

WLS is a tool. If you have stopped using it for a while, that does not mean it will not work for you any longer.

If you set a hammer aside for a year, it will still put a nail into a board when you need it to.

What you need to do is make sure you want to use the tool. Give up the food you know will not work with it, go back to the most basic rules. Sip, Sip, Sip, Sip and Walk, Walk, Walk, Walk.

Eat right and exercise. You will get to your goal weight if you allow yourself to.

I know you can do it, I know you have the ability, you have the tools, you have the knowledge. All you need is to pull the trigger.

I have not had the surgery yet. But I am on a regulated diet to prepare for it as per the nutritionist. I have found myself really change how I view the food. When I am tempted to eat the cakes and other goodies, I have been asking myself if I really want that food item and reminding myself that it was those food that brought me to this place in my life. It is never too late! Stay positive and get back on track. Do you go to a support group at the local clinic or hospital? What about an accountability partner? I am cheering for you!

Welcome! I have been told that if you go back to the liquid stage (post op diet) for 2-3 weeks that it will help to shrink your pouch and reset your mindset. If you try please let us know if it worked...good luck!!
