Question Over and done and feeling ok... mostly...

Hi all!
I had my surgery on Friday, January 27, as planned. Everything went very well with no issues or complications. I walked a lot in the hospital and did my sippin' and tastin' of puddings and yogurts. I came home on Sunday the 29th. My mom is a saint and is staying here with me and hubby to help take care of the little ones while i recuperate.

So today I got really teary. I had my one-millionth little cup of pudding, my ten millionth shake, my 40-millionth yogurt. I am SO SICK of sweet stuff! So, mom made me some cream-based soup which doc says is ok and it was so SALTY i couldnt eat it. And I have this crappy taste in my mouth that wont go away no matter how much i brush or gargle with mouthwash. And i hurt (not PAIN, just achey) and i want to pick up my little girl and...

So... thanks for letting me rant. Just wanted you al to know know i survived! And am doing well, really... No, REALLY!

Hugs,
april

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Aww, April I'm sorry you aren't able to pick up your little girl right now, but you sure don't want to hurt yourself and prolong not being able to pick her up, have your mom and husband hold her by you so you can kiss on that sweet little thing!
Congrats on your surgery, in no time at all you will feel better, stick to your surgeon's rules and best of luck to you oh and don't forget to sip, sip, sip!!
(((hugs)))

April, congratulations on a successful and uneventful surgery. It's a big surgery and that's something to celebrate! You will lose weight pretty rapidly now, which is a plus.....but it's process for sure. There will be tears, frustration, frustration and near baldness. All part of the journey so take it one day at time. When you're feeling better after a few weeks, then spring will be just around the corner! Chin up and your stick on the ice- if you're into hockey

Congratulations on your surgery. I'm glad everything went well. I'm sorry you're a bit frustrated and that you can't pick up your little girl but you will soon enough....and you'll be able to run and play with her all you like without wearing out. Hang in there and don't worry about the venting, that's what we're here for...to listen. Hope you feel better soon.

Congratulations on joinnig the Losers' Bench.
Rest well, take things easy and one day at a time, sip sip sip walk walk walk.

The crappy taste in your mouth is most likely ketosis already taking place. All you can really do it to try to get in as much fluids as possible to wash it away.

in due time as you progress with the healing, you will be able to pickup ur little girl, just hug her tight and hope that time passes and u are well enuff to pick her up, i understand about all the puddings , but i think u and I have a few more of those to take before we can really get down to some real food, or better yet more solids, I am 3 weeks out and it was hard at first, stomach was talking to me about feed me feed me, but over the course of the 2nd week, it went away and i only eat when i feel hungry

Hang in there and its a journey we are on, one moment at a time, when the first few months is over and you can return to solids, you will say to urself, i made it,i dont kno how but I did....,
Best of luck to you on you WL journey

Hi April, and welcome to the losers bench! I'm so glad that your surgery went well and there were no complications. As for the way you are feeling... it will get better. You've just had a major surgery so please take care of yourself and drink lots of fluids and get some rest. In no time at all you'll be running circles around those little ones! Remember... one day at a time.
Hugs

Talking Thanks everyone!

You girls are the absolute 100% best thing about all this craziness!

Thank you each for your support.

Today was a little better, although I kind of over did it a little and am in a bit of pain tonight. But I took some Tylenol and it seems to be easing.

Love and BIG HUGS!

april
