I had surgery on jan 17th and ive only lost 12 lbs. Is this normal? I was hoping for more results. I started my pureed diet and try to walk everyday Im still struggling with the 60 to 80 grams of protein required. I cant do shakes. .Does it start off slow?? Im scared Im not going to lose weight.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hm, you've lost 6 pounds a week since surgery- that's signficant. At that rate, in 10 weeks (less than 3 months) you'll lose 60 pounds. Relax, you're losing

I am losing slowly. You're doing great. I've lost 54 pounds since surgery. That works out to 12 pounds a month. It's not drastic BUT it's losing. I am sooooo happy with my path. Would I like to lose faster? Yes, but that is just my impatience talking. I am losing and that is what really counts. Keep it up. You'll lose faster at times and slower at other times. Just focus on the losing.

You're losing weight fine.
Your body is still healing from the major surgery that cut up and rearranged your insides. Even if your skin incisions have healed, the swelling in your insides still has to come down, the tissues that are stapled together need to merge and truly become one, not just stuck together with the staples. The rearranged guts need to readjust and realign all the functions. This isn't going to get done in a few weeks, it's going to take 3-4 months. Give your body the time it needs to heal first, don't rush it, if you want a healthy future.

We have the same surgery date! I know EXACTLY how you feel. I hear of those who only lost like 20-30 and thats it....no more. I am so scared that will happen to me!

No, don't think that way. Think positive...it will happen. You will lose the weight and you will be healthy. Be patient, I know it's easier said than done. Just take it day by day.

Don't worry about it, and please do yourself a favor and put the scale away! This first month especially. You are so swollen and were pumped full of fluids which also have to work their way out. Now relax. There, now that I have said that, I know from experience that you will still get on and check it out. Just try not to get to concerned. What you are experiencing is normal. Just try and focus on what you have been told to do....gets lots of water, start on the protein, and walk for now. The rest will take care of itself....trust us.
