Default Hello everyone!

I am new here

I had RNY on 10-20-05. I am about 5 1/2 months out and I am stuck?!!!

I am hoping to find out if what I am experiencing is normal

I started out at 301# at 5'7" at 5 months out I reached 100# gone and now I am stuck here. I had lost 90# by the 4 month mark and since then it is really slow.

Hope someone can direct me to where to post my questions.

Thanks so much in advance!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome. Yes this is normal. Is this your first plateau? I experienced my first plateau at about 6 months out. It will break just keep up the protein and water and you will start loosing again soon. Sounds like you are doing a wonderful job at your weightloss. Please come visit us sometime in our chat room. There is always someone that can give advice or just listen if you need to talk.

Hi Chris, I had my rny about a month after you and I'm stuck too! I understand it is fairly normal. My doc said just what Shelley said - water, protein and exercise! Great loss so far! Congrats.

Welcome to the board, chrisny.
Thank you for joining us, please make yourself comfy and enjoy the board, and the chat room if you can.

Wow, 100lbs in less than 6mos. That is great, congratulations!!
Your body now is trying to adjust to the rapid weight loss it has achieved, so it is time now for your body functions to align to your new balance.
If not losing lbs is making you impatient, what about your inches? You should still be losing there, and I imagine you are.
So, yes, as everyone says,
Be Patient,
Be True to Your Program,
and you'll unstick.

May your journey be full of blessings,
(((((((HUGS)))))))

Hi Chrisny welcome to the boards! I had my surgery Halloween 2005 and have lost 70 pounds. This is a great place you are going to love it here. When i had my first few bouts of not loosing i started measuring myself in inches and i was amazed. Hang in there you already have done amazing..Just think 100 pounds when was the last time you were able to do that? and in under 6 mths no less. Again welcome. We are here for you.
