Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  looking for support I just got back from my last visit with the nutrionalist. That was the last hoop my insurance company  wanted me to jump through. Now I have to wait for them to approve and set a date. I must admit that I am now getting a little nervous about the surgery. I don't really know very much about my surgeon or know anybody who was operated on by him. I will be getting my surgery at Mcgee in Pittsburgh. Any help out there? I look forward to posting often and hope for much needed support.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

| Fishroy, I remember being in your shoes like it was just yesterday. Waiting for insurance to say YES, you can have this surgery. Now I am working on 6 years post-op. I now run a support group in my city, and I could not be happier. I love helping people just like "U"!!! That is what keeps me going and staying on track. Knowing that you guys are watching me and looking at me for help guidence. Someday you too will be in my shoes, Oh yes you will. I can hear you saying Oh no, not me... | Super Moderator  | Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us. Wishing you the best on your battle with the insurance co. Doesn't your surgeon/clinic have an organised support group? These days, a lot of surgeons and clinics run support programs as well, which they encourage the pre ops to attend so they can meet others along the same journey. As your surgeon about that. BTW, I have moved your thread from where it originally was posted to this forum, as this is where the thread belongs. ((((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.
