| Big Loser | I just want to say thank you for all the wonderful words of encouragement that you give to us when we need it. You are a blessing to have here on this forum. I was really very suprised when I first joined that there was a doctor who really would actually sit and talk to people and help them to understand the medical talk that we are often given from our doctors. Again thanks for being here for us and being a friend. May God Bless You for your many words of comfort to us in our time of need. Making decisions to have surgery is hard enough but then when we have to go through all the things that happen along the way and you are there to help us understand when things don't nake since makes all the difference in the world. Thanks |

| Super Moderator | Aw, thank you all for your kind words. I just want you all to be able to see how things look like from the drs' bench, so you'll have a better understanding of what's going on, and be able to better prepare yourselves for what is to come. Ultimately, that makes your journey safer, both for yourselves, and your drs. Also, I know that a lot of people will have questions come up after you've left the dr's office, and after you've had time to digest what you've been told. So, no question is trivial. Actually, you all are helping me understand what it's like on the patients' bench. Although it's no excuse, we often are too busy, so we tend to forget to explain in a way you can understand. My "conversations" with you helps me see what info you truly need, and how to explain so you can understand what it all means. So, the gratitude is mutual. Thank you all for participating on the board. (((((HUGS)))) And thank you for the birthday wishes. Though I don't know if I can blow out all the candles in one breath, the numbers are getting big.

| Big Loser | Doc I just had a B-day on May 27. The funny thing is I turned 50 and two weeks before I did my son in law started making the remarks during our announcments at our church services. First he stood during the announcments and said I would just like to announce that I have the spoken with the fire marshal about the up coming 50th Birthday party we are giving our pastor and he will be on stand by. Well of course everyone laughted. I laughted too. Then the following Sunday once again he stood and said "there is a mistake in the bulletin we will need to have a work night this week to make sure the sprinkler systems is working correct. LOL Once again everyone was cracking. So the day came and they gave me my party. It was beautiful I mean very formal and just decked out. Well it came time for the cake and the teens rolled it in and of course it had the 50 candles all lite up. Very lite up!!! They said close your eyes now and make a wish. So of couse I did. About that time in rushes the fire men all in their suits with a fire extingisher. ( my husband had gotten them to come in and they thought that they were there to put out the candles on my cake) They were told that there would be a fake cake and they had bought a extingisher that puts out water. The funny thing was that the cake looked so real they did not know it was a fake cake. So then my son in law notices that they are not going to wet it down so he comes over and says blow out the candles. So I did and he says ok here and he removed the top part of the cake this cake was like a wedding cake with two layers. Well when I went to cut it of course it was fake and so he drops it. OH my gosh I am soooooooo sorry he said"!!! EVeryone was gasping because nobody knew the cake was fake but a couple of people. I tell you Doc that was the best B-day I have ever had in my life. It was wonderful. To have the fire department crash my birthday and they did not even know me!!!! It was the greatest. My daughter had made two cakes but the fire dept said that there was no way that cake could have been a fake so they thought there might have been a change in plans and they were afraid to spray water on it. LOL So my turning 50 was the greatest. Now I am not feeling to good these day as my hip and back are out and hurting me so bad right now. Something the weight does not help!!!! But again Doc thanks so much for all you do!!!!! Sorry this was so long but wanted to share my B-day story with you Doc |
