Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I tried this on another board and it was a big hit. I know we have a section to introduce ourselves but i thought i would try a thread. I will start and see how many lurkers and regulars join in. Hi, my name is LisaMarie, i am 34 married with 4 children. I also have one dog and a rabbit. We had 2 dogs but had to let one go about 2 mths ago due to bone cancer. Very sad. I am also a registered nurse, pediatric psychiatric nurse. I am a big Hockey fan as well as baseball fan,,Lets go Rangers and Lets go Yankees. I had my surgery on Halloween of 2005 just about 5 months ago and i am down 70 pounds. I am feeling great. Having surgery was the best thing i ever did for myself and my family. I live in Manhattan and my newest thing i love to do is SHOP. I am enjoying fitting into new clothes esp when i can get them on the clearance rack for cheap! I also enjoy amusement parks and i just renewed my season passes to six flags great adventure and looking forward to going. I found this board thanks to Lisa aka Fr1endly2 , thank you Lisa. | Cub Reporter | Great idea Lisa Marie !. Hi I'm Heidi, I'm 30 years old married to the lovely Hepa, have three children, Kate 7, Sarah 5 1/2 and Joseph 4. I've lost 75kg (160? pounds) and live in a lovely small town in New Zealand. I have 5 sisters and one of the things that makes me most proud about my weight loss is that I've inspired one of my sisters to lose weight as well and she is now well on her journey so far, losing 45kg. I found this site looking for somewhere to talk about plastic surgery after a large weight loss and have found it a wonderful supportive site. I keep trying to catch the chatroom but with the time difference it's proving difficult, I hope I get to chat to some of you in there soon. Last edited by Heidi : 04-07-2006 at 12:12 AM. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | HI im LISA....I am 44 years old mom of 3 lovely children. I reside on LONG ISLAND and have been married 17 years this JUNE. I am self employed as a family daycare provider and have been doing this for 11 years now. PRIOR to this i worked as a CONTRACTS administrator for a company that manufactured aircraft fuel gageing systems. I love music, the beach, the sun and travel but dont do that to much with 3 small kids. I am so happy that i choose to have weight loss surgery. I think for the first time in my life i eat portions of a lady and will be able to maintain weight loss. I had always been able to loose LARGE amounts of weight but always it came back plus more! Okay thats a little about me who's next?

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hey everyone! I am Shelley. I am not married but been with my boyfriend for 5 years. I have 2 beautiful children, my daughter is 13 and son is 7. We reside in Illinois. I am employed by the largest hospital in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area, working for a group of radiologist. I enjoy swimming, pretty much anything outside, playing with my children and being a mom! I had surgery June 17, 2005. As of today I am down 98lbs and so happy that I had this surgery. For the first time in forever, I can run and jump and enjoy so much that I missed for so many years. I would do this all over again in a heart beat. The only regret I have is not doing it earlier.

| Whipper Snapper | Come on you guys .. tell me I'm not the OLDEST one here! My name is Deborah and I'm 54. Married for soon to be 34 years, mother of 7 (yep that's right) sons and one daughter ... all grown now. I live out in the country just northeast of Dallas, TX with my husband and youngest son who is 21. I'm a life coach specializing in working with ministers in crisis and debriefing missionaries returning from the field, although I often see clients with a variety of life issues. I've just this week completed all my pre-op consults and tests and will have everything submitted to the insurance company next week .. so I'm playing the waiting game and trying to get "psyched" up for what is to come. I'm so glad I found this board and I'm impressed with the "family" atmosphere here. I'm glad to be part of the group and looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I guess it's my turn. My name is Jolie, I live in NJ, am married and have 2 kids. Kayley is 7 and Zach is 3. I am a stay at home mom, but want to go back to school in the fall. I love to watch reality tv...they should have a support group for addicts. I only had my surgery 3 wks ago, but as of yesterday I have lost 29 lbs!!!! I love to spend time with my family and friends. I am originally from KY but have lived here for the past 8 yrs. NJ is a totally different lifestyle than KY, but I think that I have adjusted well. All in all I guess you could say that I am pretty boring! Jolie

| WLS Mentor | hi there i think i've already done this somewhere else but here you go: my name is Krysteena, i live in Catleton Place Ontario, yes that's Canada, i am 34 yrs old, presently unemployed although i am hoping after the surgery to be able to get back to working even part time. i went to college and have a bacholers degree in behavioural sciences. I live with my boyfriend who most of you know as Roo. we have been dating for 2 and a half years and moved in together in Oct. I have 2 cats, marmaduke and tinker (aka little white kitty, aka stupid, aka knucklehead, aka....you get the idea), i had a dwarf hamster for about 4 months but marmaduke got hold of it and ate half of him. (i still feel quilty about this although i know it's not my fault, i really thought the cage was out of his reach). i was adopted by the way and have met my birth family but have had no contact with them for about 3 yrs(probably for the better). we live in a one bedroom apt but roo and i have been talking about buying a house, we'll see in Sept. i have narcolepsy, sleep apnea and have recently developed diabetes. Because of the narcolepsy i have taught myself to knit, crochet, do needlework, do cross sticth, rug hook, and other various assorted crafts. i also love to read, and play the clarinet. i weigh 400lbs and am hoping to get down to 120 although i would be happy with anything under 160. I am 5'4. I am still waiting a surgery date but am hopeful for a june date. this was the first sight i found when i did a search for chat support for this surger and am so glad. Right from the begining i felt like part of the family and think that the people here and the support are the greatest, however i have developed an addiction to thiese message boards and the daily chat. Oh yes and there is somebody out there called the poem bandit who likes to post poetry in my name, don't let her fool you. she's been pretty quiet for a couple of days but i expect her to start up anytime soon.

| Super Moderator | Hi everyone, I'm the Doc in House, as you all probably know by now. M.D. Ph.D. General internist / Diabetologist/ Occupational health and safety specialist. That's my professional credential, but I am here first as a friend and supporter on your respective journey, and I hope to be able to help you in clarifying questions you may have on medical stuff. Of course, you'll have to go back to your own drs for any particulars, for what I can tell you will be generalizations, and what's considered standard in the medical world. I've personally known Craig for a number of years now, and as well as being friends with him, I am his attending physician whenever he's in Japan. If any of you come to visit this country, and would like to have, or need a dr to be referred to, feel free to contact me. No, I am not WLS, but since I treat diabetics, I have many patients with weight issues, I am grateful for being able to become friends with you all, as you all show me how courageous and strong you are in pursuing your health, well being and happiness. I am not a health fiend for myself, but I do exercise regularly, take tennis lessons once a week, and workout at the gym twice a week, just to keep fit, and keep up my endurance level. Because of my Dad's job, I grew up being shunted from Japan -> Ankara, Turkey -> Japan -> US -> Japan, where I have lived all of my adult life. As for schools, I started out in a British school sponsored by the British Embassy in Ankara, and from there, Japanese -> US public schools-> Japanese. I was class of '67 in the US, and graduated from med school here in Japan in '74, so Treasured, no you're not the oldest, I have a few years on you. I have one hubby (who needs more than one? Other than tennis, my hobbies are reading (lots of whodunnits) and music--as in listening now, mostly, though I took piano, electronic organ, and singing lessons in my youth. I also love to drive, but don' have much time right now to drive anywhere but to and back from work. Now, being a woman, I love fashion and fashion talk, and am a veritable clothes horse. But right now, I am doing a lot of reading/learning in my spare time about kimonos--the tradtional Japanese costume-- because they are the collective result and the representative work of tradtional Japanese culture and craftsmanship. The patterns and designs, the prints, much of which are hand printed and hand illustrated, the colors--often the dyes are extracts from trees and plants, and the weaves, handed down from mother to daughter in homespuns, and the intricate craftesmanship in the more sophisticated textiles. Each and every one of the kimonos are works of art. I hope all of you will be able to visit this country and Asia as well, in the future if you haven't yet. Blessings and hugs to you all.
