Hi Everyone
I had my surgery 14 days ago and I have not seen any weight loss yet!
On the day I had my surgery, my weight was 237...the day I was dismissed from the Hospital, my weight was 253... from all the IV Fluids....
I am glad that I had my R-N-Y LAP Gastric By Pass....
I just thought that the weight would drop off!
I am taking my vitamins, calcium, drinking protein (isopure) and 2 per cent milk.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi! Welcome to the boards. Im very new to this myself so I am sorry I cannot offer any explanation as to the retention issue. BUT, I'm sure DocSanae will be able to explain it. She should be in shortly. Again, welcome to the boards. Glad you found us!

Congratulations on joining the Loser's Bench!

Bloating immediately post op is quite common, and the weight loss doesn't start as soon as you wake up from the anesthesia. Your body is healing now, so it will try to retain everything until your system starts settling down. Just stick to your surgeon's instructions and get in the fluids and protein that you need to, you should start shedding your weight pretty soon, and the first thing to come off is the fluids that you retained immediately post op.
Stay away from the scale, as it can disrupt your peace of mind, and don't worry about the weight until your next surgeon's follow up visit.

(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Welcome to the boards. We always welcome newbies. lol I can imagine you must be a tad frustrated. That is understandable. Don't get discouraged though. The IV fluids can do that to many. Alot on the boards, here, as well. The weight will soon, if it hasn't already, start to melt away. Keep us posted on how you are doing, and Good Luck on your journey with your weightloss. It's am awesome adventure, and one that will have memories to last a lifetime. Wait til your first WOW moment. Those are the best. Hope to get to know you better through your posts. mike

HEY glad your postin .....
couldnt remember your id here so only been
talkin with u thru myspace!!!!

ANYWAY some people gain weight just after the surgery
while in the hospitol due to all the IV fluids put into your body
then. SO its very possible you went up and went down some of that.
I have heard people arrive home 10 lbs higher then when they left
for surgery.
DONT worry relax your tool will work.
YOUR body is adjusting to MAJOR MAJOR surgery
and we all loose differently!
IT WILL HAPPEN!
hugs

Just in there..it doesn't happen overnight! remember you just had major surgery and the healing takes time before your body lets loose!

Don't worry in another month you'll be thinking "why was I so worried!?"

{{hugs & welcome}}
