Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Congratulations on taking that first step. Welcome to the forum!!! We all get the blues throughout this journey. I just finished my second bout of being down in the dumps. It passes. Remember that this is a HUGE change for your body and im sure hormones are all out of wack.Take it easy. When in doubt about what to eat, always look for HIGH protein, low or no carb, no sugar (artificial sweeteners are ok) and you will be fine. You are doing great! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am only 4 weeks out I am on soft/puree'd food. which I will be glad when it is over LOL . But It seems so tasteless and bland. I have tried baby foods, tuna, chicken , fish, pork., but when there chopped up in to unreconizalbe bits makes it very un appitizing.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well the foods i used on my soft pureed level that i enjoyed most were: NOODLELESS lasagana - lowfat ricotta cheese, lofat mozzerella cheese and a splash of my favorite red sauce microwaved .....(ok i love italian food so i loved this) pintos and cheese from taco bell chicken salad with the chicken very very finely chopped up....and lo fat mayonaise i pureed out chicken brocolli and cheddar soup SOME people love ricotta cheese splenda and cinimom... mashed potatoes... to name a few ....you wont be on this food stage for ever...some people use the magic bullet and puree up any of their favorites but at the early post op stages i didnt have a magic bullet. I also loved stallone protein puddings at this stage! good luck! and im sure before you know it you will be up to reg foods!

5/17/06 Start Date:
5' 6" Height: | First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! You will be amazed where you are down the road in just a bit. I sure am. I started at 365 and just visited my doc this week and am down 137 in 13 months. Chin up! Your going to be SOOO happy. So what do you like to eat? Did your doc tell you a certain amount of protein per day? I always followed exactly what I was told (even if my mind wandered around a lot on the "old" days) There is a drink called Unjury that has 20 grams of protein, 100 cals. and tastes good. You can only buy it on line as far as I know. I still use it, not as much as before. I highly suggest you try getting some. At your stage I mixed yogurt with either choc. or vanilla. Also skim or H2o @ ice for a shake kind of thing. Now I do that and add fruit and even coffe sometime. One of my all time favorites is vanilla ff, ns yogurt, vanilla Unjury, special K and fresh strawberries. It is soooo good, especially if your in the mood for crunchy and sweet. At your stage I also ate cream of wheat with ricotta, tuna mushed with lf mayo, may and a squirt of lemon, soda cracker. Egg and 2% cheese. College chicken broth. Hope this helps! Good luck. Your doing a great job.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | The Question on Protien it was 40 a day and I do use Unjury it is great like you said and no after taste at all. As for what I have been eating. ( I have been trying lesser pruee'd foods. and some I can deal with but I am finding out that the softer foods are the best. Part of My problem is I eat to fast. Learning to eat slower is a BIG thing for Me. I have only Dumped 2 times so far and it was cause I ate/drank to fast. So when they say eat slow BELIVE IT lol. I thank all that have replied so far you have given some better things to look at making , other then stage 2 babyfood. I know I am losing weight Cause I can fit in to pants that I have not worn in over a year. so the road will be long but worth every bit of it for My health and Family
