Default sleepless in Seattle???

Okay, I'm not in Seattle but I have just about the worse case of sleeplessness I have ever had. It has been coming for about a week now. I am not falling asleep before 2:30 or 3:00 and I am wide awake by 5:30 or 6:00. Last night, I could never fall asleep at all, not even for a few minutes. I am still up and it is close to six AM.

I am open to any and all suggestions. It is not caffeine, meds, food, or stress. I just can't go to sleep!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi ladies. Nice to see a couple of night owls are out. Well, on second thought, maybe you are early birds? Anyway, I thought about that, the surgery and all but I am usually so calm about anything monumental if it is concerning me. Now if it were one of my kids or my hubby, I would be SURE that was the cause.

However, maybe you are both right and if that is the case, I guess I will keel over when I have to. Thanks for the input.

I have had trouble sleeping ever since surgery. I use benadrly for the nights that i cant sleep. Tylenol PM and Motrin PM are both just tylenol and motrin with added benadryl. As your doc what he thinks. SOme people love the rx sleeping aids, i am afraid it will knock me out to much and i wont hear the kids in the middle of the night if something happens. GOod lucl.

I experienced the same kind of problem before surgery as well. I just prayed my way through it. I also counted sheep, I really did.
I am experiencing the same kind of problem, but it is just taking me forever to go to sleep. I used to always fall right asleep. It is like my legs are restless and my toes want to cramp. Do you think I need potassium? I have been walking faithfully every night and I thought that would help, but it doesn't. I laid in bed like 3 hours last night before I finally fell asleep.

A bit late coming on here, but someone else posted here a while back about being unable to sleep pre-op. Your body will take over when it needs to, and you'll get what you need.
Hang in there, (((((((HUGS))))))))

Hi all. I am post op going on 3 weeks Monday and I can't seem to sleep now either. I read, play computer games, etc and keep going back and lying down with no luck. I know liquid benadryl seems to work a little but I hate to take it every night. I have restless leg syndrome too, but have had for about 5 years and the Rx I was taking for that does not seem to be helping since surgery. I don't really know the answer except I do know walking too late releases endorphins and that can keep you awake. Sorry I could not help more. It sure is exasperating . Hope we all find a solution for this problem. Mattie
