Default 1 month post op visit...(ramblings)

My doctor was very thrilled with my progress (check out the ticker!) !!!!! I tried to talk to him about the sleeping issues, but he pretty much told me everything was normal or expected. I did see the lady who had her surgery the same day as me and she was having complications. It made me realize I need to praise God and my family that I feel so good right now. This website is great as well.

HERE'S MY QUESTION - I ASKED MY SURGEON FOR A SCRIPT FOR B12 (MY HUBBY TAKES IT EVERY MONTH!) AND HE TOLD ME I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL 3 MONTHS. FROM EVERYTHING I HAVE READ, I THOUGHT I SHOULD TAKE IT EVERY MONTH. CAN SOMEONE ADVISE? I CAN USE MU HUBBY'S PRESCRIPTION. MY SISTER WILL GIVE US THE SHOT.

I am headed on vacation in a week and I am actually looking forward to it. I am not dreading the walking or the eating part. Today, I went out to eat and shared my dinner with my best friend who also had surgery and I was like, "This is what my hubby and I can do!" No worries. I also got that neat card that lets me eat off the kids menu at restaurants.

I can honestly say that I am happy I had this surgery. I feel like my life has started over. No longer does food rule me. I know it is early, but I am ready to continue fighting this battle and I know it is a daily battle. At the restaurant today, we told the waiter, "No bread." We also asked for ToGO cups of water because we could not eat and drink at the same time. These things may seem little to you, but I feel like I am in charge for once.

On the negative side, TOM is here and the cramps right now are unbelievable! I know I have some companions out there that have complained about this so I am ready.. LOL! Another way this board has helped prepare me!

Sorry for the rambling, I am all hyped up for some reason. I just drank my second Whey 42 bullet - yucK! But, It was short, loaded with protein, and VERY sweet. I chased it with CL Lemonade and made it all better.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Congrats on a great dr visit.
all of the sureons have different instructions but I was on b12 from pre-op. They started me on thos under the tongue ones as well as the vitamin regimen before surgery. i guess to build me up and have me in the routine?? who knows. whatever it was it didnt work because i eneded up needed the shot 2 months later lol!
i am finding that when you need something and the darn surgeon is quick to say you dont INSIST! lol. im not sure about taking someone elses prescription. i wouldnt recommend it just because...

watch out for the cramps! they were a KILLER for me. i never had them before surgery. now, i literally have to lay down for 3 days a month.

you're doing so well CONGRATS again!!!!!

it just explains that youve had stomach surgery and asks that you please be allowed to order a smaller portion. its a discreet way of asking to break the rules lol. most places ive been wont serve adults from the kids menu....which is why i dont eat out at all lol!

Definitely get the card when you are ready for it. My friend went to one of those seafood buffets with her family and they charged her 34.00 (full price) because she didn't have the card. She said she ate one piece of grilled fish, not fair. They didn't have a menu, just buffet. If she would have had the card, it would have been 7.00. If your surgeon won't provide, you can find a place to print them off online. By the way, Kenyar - way to go on your weight loss!

Congratulations for doing so well one month out. I guess all docs are different and we just have to follow the rules of our own doctor.

Have a great vacation and enjoy those intimate meals sharing a plate with your hubby!

HI!
well i would never use another persons precription on myself. I think thats wrong. YOUR doctor wont even write you out the prescription for the nasal spray for b12 nascobal??? if your surgeon wont maybe your primary doctor will...i would try both ends and be persistant starting it cant hurt.

As for this meal card stuff, I find most places wont honor it....i have one
i actually never even attempted it......i just ordre usually an appetizer and tell them to bring it as my meal and thats more then enough for me. OR i have just order a side dish.....

As for TOM with your hormones wacky from rapid weight loss this is an issue women have post op. I promise you after month 6 they get more normal again. WHAT i hear is people who are irregular get regular...people with pre op cramps dont get them post op its strange. I havent had cramps now since the early post op months but i get my cycles every 21 days. MIND YOU for my entire life i was never regular...go figure.

CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss!
SOUNDS like your doing so well
thanks for stopping in to update us all
