Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Relax, you will be fine. Have you meet with your nutritionist yet? They should give you a list of protein powders, etc. for your post diet. All of us here have found that our different surgeons have different preferences. It is of course, best to follow his plan.

That said, you will need to use some type of protein powder or other method to get your protein in. There are numerous types and kinds. I have been using a protein powder called "Unjury" I have only been able to find it on line, but it comes in flavors and unflavored. I got the unflavored and have added it to sugar free puddings and jello and pototoe soup, etc.

And WELCOME TO THE BOARDS, you will get lots of valuable insight here.

Hi. Welcome. It's perfectly normal to feel nervous. You will be fine. You WILL need a protein supplement as well as other supplements. Your dr or nutritionist should give you a list of all the stuff you'll need. you'll find A TON of info on here but its best to go over everything with your dr. good luck on your journey

Lezlyres, First of all welcome to the board. I think you will find a lot of support and info here. We are one big family, so jump in. As for the nerves and questions. First on being nervous. I will show you a thread that I wrote about the same thing happening to me. DocS answered with this and it changed my thinking so much and a calm just came over me after I read it and prayed.
Here it is: I'll tell you a trade secret of ours from my 30+ years of working in the medical field. Funny thing, if you expect bad things, if you let your thoughts pick up negative vibes, you are going to have a harder time than someone in the same shoes with a very postitive attitude. If a patient has *expectations* that things can turn bad, no matter how much the drs are on the lookout (and we do watch out when we pick up negative vibes from our patients) something seems to happen.
So, try to keep a positive outlook, good emotions raise your immunity level, you know.

On the protein thing, your nutritionist will guide you and answer all your questions. Just keep track daily and depending on your Dr. you will need anywhere from 60-70 grams of protein a day. Supplements will be needed and they are easily accessible anywhere from Grocery stores to Walmart. I get the powder ones from GNC. Cheaper to use powder and you can mix it into different foods.

Hope this helps and hope to get to know you better through your post. Good luck! Mattie

Welcome to the board your emotions are very normal. I think everyone before me answered the way I would. Just follow the advice of your nutrionist and you will be fine.

Looking forward to seeing you on the loosers side.

I'm right here with you. Mine is scheduled 8/13. I was nervous alot and drove everyone crazy on here and still do. I read over all my information the nutritionist gave me just to make sure I know what I am suppose to do and not suppose to do. Right now the surgeon has me on a two week liquid diet. I've been drinking Isopure protein drinks. If you have any questions, feel free to private message me.

I do believe that Unjury is only available online. The starter list of proteins I got from my Nurse at the center only has a web address. I know from bodybuilding years ago that EAS has a good protein at a fair price as well. I also had a look here on the e store and the prices here also seem comparable with what is out there and you can get all your stuff in one place is how I look at it. I already have a list of stuff I am going to order from the e store on the site here..Check it out if you have not yet.
