Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks Doc I understand the BPD now. I just couldnt make it out on the diagram. LOL I didnt have my eyes working right I think. Yes Doc he said the would take the intestine out that he didnt need any longer any where from 8-18 inches of it. When asking him why on that he stated he did that to give a better result in the long run. My Dr is Japanese. He refuses to do the lap band because he stated its so much like the surgerys he did 10 years ago and every patient he had 5 years out put it back on. He stated he has fixed at least 80 percent of the ones he did back then. Hes on the Gastric board of directors here in the states. Im not sure about now but he was president at one time. That is why I was so curious to understand the type of surgey we were discussing.

Since the bypass limb is from 75-150cm, which is about 30-60", I guess your surgeon wants to make it shorter so it will be easier for the bile and pancreatic enzymes to get to the intestine from the pouch, and be mixed into the food to for better digestion and absorbtion of the vital nutrients, including protein.
This is interesting, thanks for the info.

Hello to all of you!

I am so very happy for the warm welcome from all of you.
Glad, that I could bring something new on the board

And I see, that some people learn about their own operation because of that..... cool.

Jill: In Denmark you say Velkommen, almost like in Germany. But the language is very different anyway.
In the school our 1. foreign language is English. The 2. is German. The 3. is french or spanish.
Nobody outside Denmark speaks danish, so we all need several extra languages to manage in the world

DocSanae: Are you a part of this forum - i mean - are you sort working here? It´s wonderfull to read all your nice and understanding answers to people here.
You must be a very busy woman - if you also have clients irl. I think, that you come up with a fantastic amount of knowledge.
About my "new" operation, i can tell you, that my surgeon has done about 2000 BPD´s in 25 years, and that should be the second largest series in the world. I think, that Scopinaro him self has done more..... he comes probably up as number one, sure.

In addition i can say, that my surgeon is going to be the new president of IFSO (European Chapter). So i rely on his skills

It is not first choise of operation in Denmark (or Europe) as well.
Actually I can not find any in Denmark, who have had this operation. There are many in Germany, Italy and Belgia, as i know, and it is known in many other (European?) contries as well.
But in my situation with a gastric fistula, my first doctor thought, that this operation would be the best choise for me.

Kit: Yes, we have similar forums in Denmark. A very nice one, of course
I actually know of similar sites in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Holland end Belgium.
I am a member in all countries, but i only write in the Scandinavian forums, because my german is not good enough to actually write my feelings down in these languages. But i can understand much of the written language, so i follow a little by reading there.

My english is better , i hope.

Mange hilsner fra (Many greetings from)
Susanne, Dk.
