Default Admitted again!

Just thought I would let you all know, I have been admitted to the hospital, yet again!

Pancreatitus!!! They cant seem to find what is causing these flar-ups. It's annoying, and of course painful. Each time it happens, i am NPO for days, have numerous tests, and finally get to go home.
Only to have it happen again.

Has anyone else gone thru this?

I just wish I could move on

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

My nephew has this problem. He was in an auto accident about 5 years ago and it is the result of those injuries. At first the eposides were frequent, but now he only has about one a year. It is quite painful and he ends up in the hospital.

Sorry to hear you are having this kind of trouble. I will put you on my prayer list and send positive thoughts your way.

Dear Keith,

I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble with your pancreas. My brother-in-law had something similar with his and I remember it was painful for him.

Your weight loss is going great Keith! We're all praying for you and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Lots of love!

Amy

Keith,

Lordy honey. You have been through it. I dont know alot about it but just from what I heard and seen first hand. My Dad got it once. He drank alot. That set his off. He had to eat certian types of food for a good while and not drink to get his to ease off. The lady that works with me her hubby had the same thing. His was caused they say by all the medications and the alchol consumption.

Im sure Doc will come along soon and tell you what it is for sure. Take care of yourself now.

Awww(((((HUGS)))) Keith.

A few possibiliies come to my mind, if it helps you any.
1) the types of food you ate when you were not truely aware of your weight and health may have damaged your pancreas over the long time, and the issue flared up with your rapid weightloss. In this case, you may have had mild attacks, in the past, but you may have attributed the pain to back pain due to the weight you carry.
2) you may have a narrowing of the pancreatic duct, which isn't easy to detect, that causes a back log of pancreatic juice.
3) your changing weight may have affected the amount of pancreatic juice that is produced, so that it is being overproduced right now.

In any case, the pain is excruciating, but the number of attacks should go down as you lose your weight and it settles at a comfortable point for you. There are medications that help you along the way, it's going to be on more med to be on, but at least better than having frequend attacks.

I am keeping you in my prayers that this issue will imporve for you, and eventually, you'll be cured. It may take some time, so please don't be discouraged, but keep up the good work you've been doing so far with your weight loss.

Keith,

So sorry you're not feeling well. I've had a bout with pancreatitis. Mine was caused by a gall stone getting stuck in the pancreatic duct. I've never had so much pain in my life and I had 3 c-sections!

I was 6 weeks post-op from my 3rd c-section (had been released from my OBGYN that day) and couldn't keep anything down. The pain was absolutely debilitating pain from below my rib cage on the right side clear through to my back. I could only get comfortable if I slouched. No lying down, no sitting up straight...It was awful! The ambulance ride from one hospital to another (45 miles) was bad even with being loaded pain meds.

After being on IV and antiobiotics for 6 days, I had my gallbladder removed and I haven't had a problem since. Praise the Lord!

My heart and prayers go out to you and hope the doctors find the cause very soon!

Take care!
Charlene

I hope Doc is right and that sooner, rather then later you can get all cleared up on this stuff. It's got to be tough. My thoughts and prayers with you between now nad then.
