it's been 3 months since surgery. I drink plenty of water, and getting sick of drinking so much water. I do drink 1 cup of either coffee or tea, any advice? Also, when i eat, i get full, but then 1 hour or so later i feel hungry again. I eat small snacks but dont feel satisfied.

you can have anything that is sugar free or diet in addition to water. anything liquid makes up your water requirements. as for the food, hmmm, are you eating high protein low carb? i know for me carbs never satisfy me (they also make me sleepy) but if i have a piece of meat, i stay full all day. i actually have to remind myself to eat. maybe if you tell us what you eat throughout the day, how often and what you eat, someone could suggest ways to change it or make it last in a way so that you dont get hungry. |

hi i feel same way as you do but have learnt that its in my head, i crave food but im not really hungry its just that old habits die hard.its true that high protein foods will keep you feeling full for much longer but im afraid i love my pasta and do eat a little of whati like. Eat till your full its the only way for me, my body soon tells me when iv over done it sure yours will to.

to count our fluids it can be any surgar free drink! SHAKE it up so your not so bored use diet snapple flavors propel flavors crystal light flavors surgar free kool aide be creative there is so much out there to use. NOW as far as hunger? are you stopping your liquids 45 mintues before ur meal and waiting to start up the drinking process 3o mintues with no drinks at meal time??? as these pouch rules can be pushing your food thru to fast not filling you up. ALSO make sure your eating as much solid protein as you can as it keeps us fullest the longest! hugs good luck

I must not be getting enough protein. I had fat free yogurt & banana, for breakfast. Lunch asian salad from Mc D's and a hand full of chip(not good i know). Dinner sugar free pudding& banana.

that will stall your loss also. focus onthe protein, at least 60 g a day. i think what you ate today was nowhere near that lol. make sure you get it all in -- your fluids and your proteins. you dont want to get sick. |

If you can't get in enough protein thru food, use protein shakes, add protein powder to food, like add to youghurt etc. In fact, since you are still about 3 months out, you probably need the assistance of protein supplements to get in the required amount of protein. What's the number for protein your surgeon gave you? Remember, protein first -- at least 60g per day -- and plenty of fluids --at least 64 oz a day, or whatever number your surgeon and/or nutritionist gave to you. Go to the Vitamins and Nutrition section of the Gastric Bypass Diet forum, there's plenty of discussion about protein supplements.
