| Newbie |  new here I am new here and thought I would say hello. I have been thinking about having weight loss surgery for a few years now. I have been struggling with my weight for about 12 years (since the birth of my first son.) Now I'm researching info to take to my doctor and we will go from there. I am looking into the gastric sleeve, but I doubt my insurance will cover it. |

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

If you can get at it, check the booklet for your health insurance policy on what they will and will not cover as far as weight loss surgery goes. A lot more of them are covering it. It saves them a boatload on other things in the long run

My suggestion is to educate yourself to the fullest. There are many sites out here to "get informed". You may be able to call your insurance co and see if they cover it. Also, something to be aware of is your insurance may cover it, but your workplace can have a "exclusion clause" where they won't pay for it. But I believe your insurance company should know that info. Good luck with everything! |
