Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  I met with surgeon today Today I saw my surgeon today to sign all the surgery papers, get lab request and to get info on pre op liquid diet. It really is becoming more real, just over 2 wks away! On Oct 8 I start my liquid only diet for the 7 days prior to surgery. The only thing that really concerned me was he had me cough while laying down and said he thinks he "feels" something in my abdomen. He asked me if I had a hernia, my only response was, I have never been diagnosed with one. He didn't seem to be too concerned as he said I will check it out during surgery. The nurse even asked if I were pregnant, I laughed and said there is no way as my hubby can't make babies anymore. I still have to have a pregnancy test! I went straight to the grocery store to get more Carnation Instant Breakfast for my liquid only week. He did say that without complications, I should be able to return to work in 2 to 3 weeks...whew...the less time off, the less I have to fix when I return! Hope all of you had a good day, too!

You will probably find that right before your date you will have a million butterflies, but just try to focus on the positive. I read on obesityhelp.com yesterday where a girl cancelled her surgery the day before because she was soooo scared. Now she is regretting it. I was very close to doing the same thing, and I am SOOOOOOOO happy I didn't. Good luck to you on your new journey!! |
