 |  i have no one to support me on my decision to have wls
I just need to vent , the last couple of days this has been on my mind alot . i really don't have anyone to supprt me on my decision to have wls surgery , the one friend that i thought that i could depend on to be there for me i haven't heard from since i was called on 10/4/07/ first to attend the seminar she was supposed to attend with me your suppose to bring a friend / support person with you and when i called her an hour and a half before she said she didn't want to go because it would take to long . prior to this we were both looking forward to going and pretty excited . we both thought that she would get a letter in the mail any day and after she didn't i believe she became jealous because i was called first. she hasn't returned my calls or nothing since and she was a little nasty when i talked to her last. i know that i have the support of my immediate family but my mother isn't able to check on me daily . she just messed up my plans she was supposed to help care for my daughter if i went first and vice versa she was going to move across the street from me and everything . i guess you can think you know someone and they are your friend and really they're not , so i don't know if i should go through with this as planned or not ? do you really need that much support afterward or can i do this alone? i don't want to let the  hold me back or is it not meant to be ? i feel like i can't get any support with this and i don't know why not even here |

it all depends on the person. first off let me say i am sorry you are going thru this now of all times. i am a single parent. i have no family in state. if i could do it i think anyone else could. i took the train to the hopsital BY MYSELF, got on the stretcher by myself, and left the hopsital by myself (well a friend drove me home but you know what i mean). im not saying it SHOULD be done this way, but you would be the best person to determine whether or not you can handle it alone. it is hard with a little one but my daughter was very understanding and a little helpful at times.
as for support....you always have us

Man I am sorry you are going through this now. I know I really dont have any friends here. My husband was home with the kids while I was in the hospital but the day I came home he had to go back to work. I have 3 kids ages 11, 10 and 5. They were a big help. I think putting this off is not a good idea but you have to do what you can deal with.

Thank you very much ..........because that seems like the same thing i'll be doing . Because my mind is made up to do this no matter what if i go under and don't come back it is gods will . i'm not gonna let anyones envy stop me . i have plans to stay with my mother for the first week after. i know i'll be okay my concern is my daughter and caring for her mostly. i'm pretty strong and independent it just upsets me that my friend is so shallow during this journey

She is 10 yo and she is all for me having this surgery she even wants to go on a diet

awwww. i was only asking in case she was an infant then it would be hard because there is no lifting for a period of time. but with a 10 yr old i think you will be fine. i wish you and your daughter nothing but the best

No she is a big girl very helpful to me sometime to much  i just don't want her to have to miss school she is my life right now hopefully after this i'll have a life too.
She has to have surgery also hopefully hers will be in december she has her consultation the same day i go for my initial visit with my doctor
oh yea she has to have surgery on her teeth next to her front teeth are growing up toward her nostril and they have to make a path for them to comedown and then she;ll have to have braces i know that it is the wordt but when they told me that tears came to my eyes so of course she comes first
