Default a newbie, 2 weeks post op, 21.5 lbs. lost

Hello all! My name is Dawn. I was searching the web for a WLS forum and I found all of you. I had my surgery (gastric bypass) 2-1/2 weeks ago and I feel great. I've lost 21.5 pounds so far and can't wait for the rest to come off. All of your pictures sure are inspiring. Pretty soon mine will be up there along with all of yours.

I do have a question for anyone out there. I can say, that I never do feel hungry. Which is exactly what I had hoped for. However, I just started to get that "I have a taste for something feeling". Which I'm sure is just a head hunger. I'm still on full liquids right now and I'm wondering if this is normal. I thought I'd only be able to drink 1/4-1/2 cup of soup. I can easily down 1 cup and probably more but I stop there on my own.

I thought the liquids would fill me up to. Is there a difference of fullness between the liquids and real food?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome and congrats for taking the step on this journey as we call it. Way to go so far. And I would agree that is might be head hunger. I had it too sometimes in the begining. I swear that every time I looked there were food and restrauant commericals on TV and it messed with mind. I really wanst hungry just head hunger and thinking I wanted something.
This is one bumpy roller coaster ride but its oh so worth it.

Congrats on surgery and your progress so far...I remember early out, telling my husband "I want a cheeseburger from Whataburger!!"

I don't think I really wanted it, but it was KNOWING what it would taste like, and wanting that satisfaction. You get beyond this as you start choosing healthier foods and knowing you only have so much space and calories to spend. You will start spending them "wisely"!

Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the board AND the loser's bench!!! It is a wild ride at times, but sooo worth it. Yes....that nasty head hunger!!!! It will REALLY play some tricks on you. Just do your best to stay focused. We slip, but as long as we get up and try again and again, we WILL be a success.

Hi there. Im Vickie. Welcome to the boards. Congrats on your recent surgery. I personally think when They let me start having food..... It didnt take as much. Im like you. I can do alot of liquids. When it comes to food you will find they stay with you longer and you cant eat as much or I dont think you can. Yes honey you may be dealing with head hunger. Just follow your Drs guidelines and you should be fine.
