Hey everyone,

Anyone get to the point where they want to eat everything but know they can't. That is where I am at tonight. Ive lost close to 22lbs and had my surgery 16 days ago. The weight loss seems to be slowing down a little bit. Is that normal? One other thing, Im still in a little pain, anyone know when that will be over? Im so tired of having pain. Anyway sorry to drop a bunch of complaints. I have not much support at home because no one really understands...... Thanks
Christine

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

yep, yep, and yep! lol. i didnt have pain until further out actually. as for wanting to eat everything, yes initially i felt that way. i noticed 100% of the commercials on tv were food related lol! but then it wore off. now i cannot even think about food....as for the slowing down, the loss comes in dribs and drabs. i was never consistant with losing. thats not to say we all lose the same, but dont let it get you down. it will pick up again.

with respect to the pain, if its something you cannot bare get in touch with your dr. right away.

Musica,
WELCOME to the RR family! you are never alone here

OMGosh YES!! i am having a day like that today!! I eat about 2 oz at a time and then I'm full, but i actually woofed down about 3 oz of my "meal" tonight before i got full!! lol-- i felt like a little piggy!!
BUT the fact that i feel like i pigged out at only 3 oz of food is just tooooo funny to me--- before i ate CUPS of food and never felt satisfied!!

ALWAYS I try to make sure that i get all my vitamins, water and proteins in before anything else though- no matter what. We have very small pouches, so make it all count! We need to eat like this for the rest of our lives.

Rule of thumb: follow your DR's diet.

MY rule of thumb--- follow the Dr's diet and lick/chew/suck and spit what ever ya can (sugar free of course!). LOL

I don't get "hungry" (though i am always thirsty and want salt) but my head wants to eat it all still.

So these last days i find that i will TASTE pretty much water i want, meaning that i lick it or suck on it and or chew it and get all the flavor out and then spit it out... NO SWALLOWING. I only had surgery on Oct 15 so "food" is out for me -- im still doing "mushies". Every doc goes at their own pace. I ask so many questions, but in the end i follow my docs orders to a T.

As for me on this "chew and spit" faze, I guess it is just a faze and will pass as i graduate into solids. So i am not worried and the weight just keeps slipping off.

FYI- I also had a few days where i seemed to stall though, and even 1 day i gained! but a lot has to do with water and your body just being your body--- so don't weigh every day-- try to do it just 1nce a week.

You WILL lose weight so never fear!

Pain- if it is really bad call your doc.

I had some discomfort the first 24 hrs of being home and took dr prescribed vicadin, then came off all meds/pain pills and just put up with it.

My pain level was about a 5 out of 10 after about 2 days of being home. If it were higher then that i would have stayed on the pills longer.

My stomach scars (had 6 "holes" in all) are just about all faded into my skin now. No more jagged redness or scabbies. Can't harldy feel them with your hand either- they are almost all flat. Though there is still some numbness in the cut areas. But I can't believe how fast the heal!!

Funny though-- even though my pain was minimal upon few days of being home, last week i had some real pain-- it would be throughout the day. My level was about 6.5 out of 10--- but i figured i was doing a bit too much even though i thought i was taking it easy-- so i slowed myself down some and now all is great again

Just hang in there....it gets easier.

Christine,

Im gonna say your normal at this point. It was about the 5th week before I started feeling better and didnt concentate solely on what I could and couldnt have. When your allowed to actually eat somthing this will disapeer. Im not saying you wont have a craving but the food part your missing wont mean as much.

As far as pain yes. I think we think were so much better and really over due somthings. You gotta rest. Remember just because it looks healed up outside dont mean it is inside. Look at your scars. Your tummy inside is the same way.

i think everyone has those days that they want to eat everything, thats what got us to where we were in the first place, and watching everyone els eat whatever they want dosnt help!! but just keep in mind ....nothing tastes as good as skinny feels...i have had quite a few trying days, it will get easier as time goes on and you get more use to the new lifestyle, yesterday my little chihuahua who was like my 3rd baby got ran over and all i could think was i need a whole cake and i need it now!! well good luck and stay strong!! hugs!!
