Okay, I've talked and talked about my jitters. They come and go. Now I worry about all the things that can happen. I know I need to move around to prevent embalism and aid healing, not prob there. I know about the rules of the pouch. I just don't want any more surgery. Like the Stomal thing and getting dialated or the hernias. I know alot of people that have gotten hernias have tried to do too much too soon. I still vow not to puke dagnabit. How did everyone do with not having water or anything until the second day after the barium swallow? I have a thyroid condition, I'm gonna be thirrrrrssstyyy. What else? God, the thought of having my inside chopped into bits. Am I gonna feel like I've been I've been punched in the gut? I hate that they tell you and tell you about all the things that can happen.

5:30 Monday morning then i get to take a long nap. I am so due for some good sleep.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You sound like I felt preop Hang in there. Personally, I did ok with the vomitting thing, I've only done it a few times - you'll learn quickly. I prefer Aquaphor for my lips, being able to rinse your mouth, brush your teeth and put on lip stuff is a real help, keep in mind you'll have your IV for a while so you wont really be needing to drink, the above suggestions are for dry mouth and comfort. They dont actually chop you to bits - more like a controlled stitching then cutting and reattaching as needed.... I didnt enjoy the play by play info either but I guess they dont want any misunderstanding as to what you are asking for. Im sure they'll take great care of you postop. Have you picked up your water, crystal light, and other liquids for when you get home? If you would like to call me, send me a message and I'll send you my phone number. To me, this time before surgery is the most unnerving, stay busy - did you do your Christmas shopping? decorating? that sort of thing? that should keep you busy...... Happy Thanksgiving!

I had my EGD scope the other day - now I'm just waiting to hear the date. When I get to thinking about it too hard - I have the same exact thoughts as you. I know it is all going to worth it. Lord God in Heaven - please bless this lady and her surgeon. Please keep her safe.

I never had the barium swallow, so they let me have ice chips and clear liquids right away. The pain was not so bad for me, everyone is different though, but after they unhooked the pain meds in the hospital the next morning, I was fine without them and I never used the prescription on Vicodin that my surgeon had me pick up. As for doing too much too soon, yes take it easy, I felt weak for about 6 weeks, so I never had the urge to do too much too soon. I am excited for you and hope all goes "uneventful" and look forward to you recovering and sharing more with us all!!

Hang in there. While there are no guarantees about how you will handle the surgery; you just have to be positive. Your attitude determines your altitude and with this surgery you are gonna soar!! Hope all goes well. Hang in there!

LOL - you caught me off guard. When you said 6 days out from surgery, I thought you meant you had surgery 6 days ago so I was a little confused, not realizing you meant 6 days away from surgery.

Anyway, don't think of it as having your insides chopped into bits, think of it as your insides are going to be sculpted.

I can't wait to be reading from you when it HAS been 6 days after. It is going to be sooooo cool. But I know I'm going to be right where you are when it is my turn, and you can say - ah, there's nothing to it.

I am 5 days post op, not in my happy camper phase yet. I'm not handling jello or broth, it dumps, I think, I get these horrible stabbing stomach pains. I called my doctor, he told me to forgoe it today and try one thing tomorrow so I've just been on popsicles and luquid. I get these stomach spasms, last about 15 minutes, I started a bit of pain medicine, i cant walk until then then I'm wiped out. So, I'm still trying to stay positive. I was so happy not having pain medicine until these spasms started.
