I guess to start I have to say TG for this forum... I'm in the process of getting all my pre-op stuff taken care of before they schedule surgery (I've done my blood work) I have to have an endoscopy Tuesday of Next week and then a visit with my GP. Then all that I have left is a Psych consult and then I am supposed to go to 3 support meetings. After those are done, they will schedule surgery. :nervous: I go to a WL support group (TOPS) but most of the women in my group are TOTALLY AGAINST me having a GB??? They think I'm not fat enough??? I beg to differ... So, I'm hoping to use this group as my support during this process. Oh I also have a blog My Journey to Thin but I can't figure out how to get it listed on the blogs site here yet.. give me time... I'll get it. Anyway - thanks for listening.

Welcome to this wonderful site. Its great. And congrats on taking the step to do this sugery for yourself. I didnt tell hardly anyone before I had the surgery. I was sure that I would have gotten alot of opinions and they wouldnt have been good. So I kept quiet. I did my sugery for me and this is something that if you want it and you are ready you will do it for you. Best of luck with your journey. Where are you in upstate NY? Im from Rochester.

Welcome to RR; it is a great place to share the journey. TOPS, gosh, I remember that group from when I was 10 years old! Yes, that is how early I began the yo-yo diet thing! Sorry that more of your group was not supportive of your decision. I think its a great decision for anyone who has struggled with weight all their life and is above the BMI level. But whatever your outcome, this is still a great place to be.
