Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  Done with surgery Hello all, My surgery is done. yeah. Had it on Tuesday noon and was home by Wednesday evening. Yeah. I was so incredibly bored in the hospital. You can only walk up one hall so many times, ya know? Anyway, glad to be home and walk outside a little bit (temps are dipping here in MN). All went well, I actually feel really good with the exception of gas bubbles that the doc says I have to walk off and then passing the gas (oops) gets a lot easier and he was right. So I've been dong that. I have no restrictions, except no driving while I'm on the pain meds, I think today or tomorrow I'm going to give that up, we'll see how it goes. Now a question for you all, is it normal to come home from the hospital and not to have lost any at all yet? I'm hoping that's so t hat your body has to get used to things and then you'll be able tolose. I'm on a 4 week liquid diet now after surgery and meet with Doc in two weeks and he'll give instructions how to proceed. Thanks a lot for your input. Lois |

And in answer to your question, yes its common to not come home from the hospitol with any weight loss and as a matter of fact some folks are up from all the IV's pumpped into you can cause great bloating!
