| Newbie  |  Just Found You!! Hi everybody!! I was just "googling" weight loss surgery success,,and found your site! How cool is that?? Im a 59 year old grandmother, who was morbidly obese for the last 35 years. I had tried everything from Atkins to Herbal Life, to Weight Watchers, to Phen-Phen. Finally last summer, when we went on vacation and I could no longer walk or even put on my socks and shoes myself. I made up my mind, I was done with this! I researched the surgery, talked to my PCP, and was approved by my insurance in 6 hours once they received everything they needed. I had the LAP RNY on Spetember 14th of 2005 weighing 322 lbs. I suffered from deep depression, joint paiin, severe edema of the extremeties, high blood pressure, foot problems. Now, almost 9 months later, I weigh 215 lbs, wear a size 14-16, and feel wonderful! I have no joint pain, no depression, and I can put on my own sox and shoes! i walk miles, and have boundless energy! This surgery was a life saver for me! I stillhave a ways to go, but ya know what...Ill get there! Life is great! And Im loving it more everyday! |

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

Height:   |  Hey musicmama let me be the first to welcome you to the board. I love it here as you will be able to tell after reading a few of the posts. I am always so glad when new people introduce themselves so we get an idea of what their needs are. I hope that you will post your before and after pics sometime soon after you are acquainted and that you enjoy it here. I just had my surgery on the fourth of April and it is the best thing I ever did in my life outside of marriage and children. I am so proud of you for your accomplishments and look forward to getting there myself. Janae |

| Newbie | Thanks for all the warm welcomes!! Makes me feel like Ive known you all forever! Well, I have had a new expereince in this weightloss jurney I think. I just found out that I cannot tolerate sugar!! I made some pudding,,with what I thought was sugar free pudding. WRONG! It was the real stuff,,and made my stomach cramp so painfully,,made me soooo sick!  So, now I know!! Whew! Wont be trying anything with sugar any time soon thats for sure!Kinda glad I know though,,,now I wont be tempted to find out!  |
