Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI MONICA!
THE important thing is that you FOLLOW YOUR SURGEONS protocal.
Every surgeon has a different schedule of foods to be added into your
diet...so please be sure to double check with them on the stage that
your in and when you should move up.
I know that didnt help...
but my surgeon had me on 2 weeks clear liquids, then 1 week on the level 2 liquids which added milked based products, then at the 3 week mark i moved to purees and by 1 month i was slowly trying new foods slo carefully and chewing well.
THE key is to do as your particular surgeon wants you!
ALL the best and please feel free to ask any questions!
we love to help

Monica, first off, welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
(((((((HUGS))))))), congratulations on joining the losing side.

2 weeks since your surgery means that you are still healing on the inside. If you had lap bypass, then it may be hard for you to understand that your scars on the inside are not yet completely healed. The wounds may be closed, so there is no leakage, but that does not mean that the stoma and sutures have completely healed to the level that you do not have to worry about rupturing things easily.

That said, follow your surgeon's protocol to the T and the dotted i as fr1endly2 says. Each surgeon has a different protocol, devised from the basic guidlines and adapted to fit the needs of the respective patients through the surgeons' experiences. What was OK for one person may not be OK for you.
If your question comes from the fact that some of the foods you were told that you can eat, do not sit well with you, that happens to many people. Your new pouch is going to be very picky, so listen to what it asks, but do not deviate from your surgeon's protocol. If you feel that something is wrong, then do not hesitate to call your surgeon's office. They are the ones who know exactly how your insides are now, and can advice you accordingly.
Hope this helps.
(((((HUGS)))))))) again.

Thank you guys for your responses!
my Dr. says its okay to eat whatever i want as long as i can tolerate it
and it is well lubricated to help it go down easier, i started with the clear
liquids about 4 days then puree about 4 days also then its been whatever
meat with sauce i could cook in the pressure cooker until its a really soft
consistency. My problem is i could eat anything and i dont get sick i have
not thrown up once but when i eat with rice or pasta i get a super heavy
feeling in my stomache i am passing my bowels with no problems at all
but no more than 2-3 tablespoons of anything fit. and i am super craving
a subway sandwich when is it okay to try that if i could eat rice and pasta i could try it right?

well its hard to say cause i was not cleared by my surgeon till one month to eat all foods chewing carefully and slowly.
I went slo and easy and did puree stage (which sounds like what your on ) and went slo.
I didnt do pasta or rice for many many months cause they expand in the pouch and hurt some.
good to hear you havent gotten sick yet

Hmm, by lubricating, I hope you aren't drinking liquids with your meal. You might need to sip just a bit to moisten your food, but no more than that. If you take any larger amount of liquid with your food, you very likely will sabotage your pouch by making the food exit from your pouch faster than it should.
Other than that, post ops seem don't do well with rice, pasta, breads until they are several months out of the surgery.
Do you have a nutrician/dietitian? If you do, you should ask them as well as your surgeon what stage foods will be bestl for you.
In any case, don't up your food too fast, and be careful of the amount you are eating, even if you feel you want some food, it may be that your brains are sabotaging you, and you are having what is commonly called "head hunger." Beware of this, because this is something that can easily sabotage your surgery.

Default thanks for the insight

thanks for the insight by lubricating i was explained that it meant
add soup or liquid from the beans to my rice and chopped steak or whatever meat i am eating so its not so dry i have been sticking
to drinking liquids 30 minutes after every meal i was told that this
is because i would wash away any vitamins or proteins i eat if
i drink before the 30 minutes. do you guys think i am eating to much?
am i doing somthing wrong? i had to pay cash for my surgery so i
only get 1 post op visit which i did and the next one isnt for 8 weeks
my insurance would not cover it so i dont have anyone else i could
see about this and i have to wait the 8 weeks

Awwww, ((((((HUGS))))))
Then, I would suggest you go look up some Bariatric Surgery sites, there are a couple of links up above this page, too, and these sites often have the post op food protocol in their web sites. They will probably give you an idea of what you should be doing. Also, go to the home section of this site--click the "Home" button in the navigation bar above, and check the index column on the left, and read any articles there that may help you as well.
