I know that there is lots of vitamins we must take but not until 4 weeks post surgery. One fellow in a support group said you take so many vitamins it is like a meal.
The nurse said the Vitamin B12 I got was too high a dosage, and I will take that every other day.

I too look at many web sites and that is how I found this one...

I did not know of the endoscopy that is a great idea

I remember when my sister came to visit and wanted a child's portion she had a card to explain that she had WLS but she does not wear the bracelet perhaps I better look into it

I told someone who I have known for many years, but had not had the opportunity to tell. He is so loud, and I did not want the news spread around the workroom floor.

He asked directly, so I told him.

I am down to 258, and that is 82 pounds less than last Christmas when I saw one of my brother in laws. He said, "Linda, you look different. Did you get a haircut?" Since this is the second person asking the same question...not noticing the tremendous weight loss...I thought I would give you a hoot!

One thing that I have been doing is drinking a protein shake in the morning or a protein smoothies. I put a few frozen raspberries or strawberries, yogurt, a protein powder, and juice. It varies what juice, and since I was pre-diabetic last spring, I have chosen sugar free juice or water. My yogurt choices for the smoothie are Dannon Light and Fit. Some protein powders are instantized and I have just had them with water or on occassion milk. I do not like chocolate very much so I have only had chocolate on occassion by mixing in cocoa powder. I have tried slim fast in the reduce carb but do not like the tin can taste of prepared formula.
I also have so many protein powders for post surgery when that will be what I need to boost my protein. My daughter introduced me to Fiber One Protein Bars and my husband got me two big packages. I gave her one wrapped up. I had found that I ate one a night for three nights, and thought to myself, Linda you are treating this like a cookie.
So, I only kept it for nights like tonight, when I have to work overtime. I am on the twelve hour list. I have just a half hour to go. Lots of overtime in the post office!
(Actually, been here since 6 30 am when my husband's shift began...and will work til 8 pm. I work from 7 30 am.)

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Default By next weekend I will be on my way...surgery is Thursday, Jan. 3rd.

I am working today, and hopefully will be off until Wednesday. It will be good to relax and have time with family. Choosing wls has been an experience. I am glad I did, and look forward to the new slimmer me in 2008.

Thanks for all the support.

Welcome to the boards, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your date.
((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

I have taken the liberty of splitting your post and the responses to it, as it was starting to distract from the original starter of the thread.
I hope you won't mind. This way, each of you will receive the attention and support you both deserve, instead of everything being mixed up together.

Welcome...
This is a great web site. I started off a lot higher in weight than you. I am trying not to shop for the clothes I will be wearing. What I did yesterday is virtual shopping. I looked and said yes this would be nice. I just kept selecting things I would buy this month next year.
I actually bought my husband two shirts, and some clothes for the young woman in Dominica that I have been sponsoring. I just sent the box with clothes for her sisters. It was the lightest box that I have sent down there. No toys or peanut butter in this one.
I have not been nervous. A friend who had the operation in June was very nervous. Part of his worry is that he has a young teenage son, and year old daughter. His son asked him not to do it the night before the operation.

I know my husband is thinking of it because he asked me if I lay awake thinking of it. Perhaps, because it is the Christmas season, and prime time for letter carriers to be off work I have not had time to dwell on it. I have worked 5 days over 12 hours. Before yesterday, I did not get home until near 9.

I do have a lot of time that I think, but mostly it is questions like where does the stomach acid go. I am so curious. I look a lot up online and write to this support setting as well as obesityhelp.com.

Since my computer is not up and running, I am replying at work. At home, I am getting to bed way earlier than usual. I would be on Pogo.com for games past my bed time. Or on sites where I could see all about weight loss surgery. I saw the actual operation one night.

Did you have a case manager from your insurance company? She said that she will call me back on Monday the 7th to see how I did.

Enjoy your grandchildren. I know we will live much longer due to this surgery.

I just started realizing that I have too many protein bars, cans of tuna from Bumble Bee, and diet juices. Oh, I know, I will be back to the tuna and juices; just wondering when I will get back to the protein bars with flax seeds and almond. Maybe in March or later.
