 |  Who am I? Hello. My name is Brent S and I am a 38 yr old Seperated white male from South Ogden Utah. I have made the decision to have WLS this late summer or fall so that I can have a shot at some kind of better life. I am a mental health therapist by trade, but I am still as clueless as everyone else most of the time  . I believe that my current weight is about 550ish, as I have not been able to find a scale to weigh myself. At that wieght, my BMI is 67, and I found out that I am in a category called "Super Morbidly Obese" (I think Ultra Morbidly Obese sounds cooler, but I didn't go to medical school so I have to stick with the name that is already there!). I feel the need to state that I am very sarcastic and can make a joke out of ANYTHING, so I apologize if I offend anyone with one of my comments. For those of you who have seen the movie "Patch Adams", that is my kind of humor....Anyway, like I said, I am planning on having WLS later this year. For better or worse, my insurance is not paying for anything, as the surgery is a specific exclusion. Of course, it is also somewhat empowering to be the one in charge, and I think that I have found a good place to have my surgery. The scary thing is that since I am paying, I can schedule at my convenience (shocking I know). My Mom is having both knees replaced this year as well, so that will be a scheduling consideration, and I am also ending a 10 1/2 year marriage, and am negociating with my job as I supervise a residential unit, and they have a heart attack when I have a sick day.... Needless to say this year will be exciting to say the least.  Well, at least I will have six weeks off to catch my breath.....(as if). I look forward to getting to know everyone, and if any of you want to talk, please feel free to contact me, as I love to listen! (Besides that, for you it is FREE! What a deal!) Of course, you get what you pay for, so keep that in mind.........
